Beckler creek riverside

Nice large campsite near the water. There were many campsites along the road. I had to clean up a lot of trash when it got here. Please pack out your own trash and follow other leave no trace rules. The campfire was awesome

Repulsive

Every dispersed campground we checked along this road (maybe five or so) was littered with human feces and toilet paper everywhere. We found a literal bucket of human waste beside the river with a soiled pool noodle nearby I can only assume was being used as a toilet seat. Please, if you care about keeping nature wild, carry out your toilet paper and dig a cathole or use the outhouse in the campground. If you don’t know what a cathole is, you should probably should not being using dispersed camping and try the campground down the road. We ended up staying at the campground because we couldn’t find dispersed camping where there wasn’t poop and had a positive experience there. Leave no trace!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find dispersed camping spots along Beckler River Road?

Dispersed camping spots can be found along the main Beckler River Road and up various forest service roads that branch off it. Many prime spots are situated with direct water access to the river. Look for pull-offs and established sites as you drive along the road. The best spots tend to be the larger clearings near the water that can accommodate tents and possibly small RVs. Remember that these are primitive sites with no facilities, so come prepared with everything you need and be diligent about practicing Leave No Trace principles.

What amenities are available at Beckler River Campground?

Beckler River Campground offers primitive dispersed camping with no formal amenities. You won't find running water, trash service, or restroom facilities, so come fully prepared with your own water, waste disposal bags, and other essentials. Campfire rings may be present at some established sites, but you should bring your own firewood and a portable camp toilet. Pack out all trash and waste to help maintain the natural beauty of this area.

Are there good fishing spots at Beckler Creek near the campground?

Yes, Beckler Creek offers fishing opportunities near the dispersed camping areas. The waterfront sites provide convenient access to fishing spots directly from your campsite. The creek is known to have various fishing locations along its course where campers can try their luck. Be sure to have appropriate Washington fishing licenses and check local fishing regulations before your trip. As with all activities in this area, practice catch and release when appropriate and follow all conservation guidelines.

How do I get to Beckler River Campground from Skykomish?

From Skykomish, take Highway 2 east for a short distance, then turn north onto Beckler River Road (Forest Road 65). Follow this road as it winds alongside the river. The dispersed camping areas are located at various points along this road, with some of the best spots situated near the water. The drive from Skykomish is relatively short, typically less than 30 minutes depending on which camping area you choose. Road conditions can vary seasonally, so a vehicle with decent clearance is recommended, especially for accessing sites further from the main road.
