County
Oak Grove Park & Big Sioux Park is a combination of both state and county land. The Oak Grove Park is state property totaling up to 101 acres of the 433 combined acres of park. Big Sioux Park is the county land that is adjacent to the park. Care of Oak Grove was taken on in 1962, with the first addition of county property added to the park in 1967. For geological interest there are two large outcropping of Sioux Quartzite and a mound of slag which is the remains of a 100 year old coal bed.
This park houses the headquarters for the Sioux County Conservation Board along with their Environmental Education Programs.
This area offers a variety of habitats to explore including: forest, prairie, and riparian. Oak Grove offers several scenic observation points. There is much to do at the Oak Grove/Big Sioux Park from camping, hiking, fishing, winter activities, and much more.

Select sites at the Big Sioux Rec. Area, Oak Grove/Big Sioux Park, and Sandy Hollow Rec. Area offer online reservations for camping.
Sites that are not available for online reservation are available on a first come first served basis. You may place a camping unit, tent, or vehicle on the site to reserve a sites. Site must be paid for a registered upon placing vehicle, tent, or camping unit on the site for it to be considered taken.
