    Governor Bebb MetroPark Campground

Roughing it by a creek and a pioneer village

Basic car tent camping at several spots along a creek wIth picnic tables and fire rings (no hookups, portolet toilets, no showers.) There is a rustic scout cabin/group lodge reservable for scout, etc. groups. The park features a pioneer village with log cabins, including a blacksmith forge, etc. that have been moved to the site.

    Governor Bebb MetroPark Campground

Nice quiet spot for a few nights out.

This is a nice county park that is being upgraded.  There is a fairly new playground near the camping areas, a new pit toilet building, and a bridge leading to where a new trail system is being created.  There are a mix of Electric and non electric sites.  I think 9 non-electric and 7 electric sites.

Fire rings and picnic tables at every site.  We were able to fit our Escapod (tear drop) camper in a non-electric site.

I think there is more coming in redevelopment of this county park, so it shoudl keep getting better!

Natural Springs Resort - RV Park, Campground and Recreation Destination

    Lots to offer-tight sites

Full service campground. 30, 50 am full hook ups. Water and electric only hook ups, primitive RV and tent sites. Some sites are shaded, most of them seem to be year round rented. Most sites not shaded and small. Lake with beach, fishing, boating, and scuba diving. Golf cart rentals, firewood for sale on site. Pool available. Camp store and hot food available on site. Cabins also available for rent. Within 25 min of Walmart, hole improvement stores, and restaurants. Overall nice campground with lots to offer. But in most cases there is parking lot style camping.

Natural Springs Resort - RV Park, Campground and Recreation Destination

Glad we checked it out, but don't feel the desire to come back.

Advertises heated pool and splash pad, but pool was not heated and colder than lake(major bummer- as this was a major draw for us) and splash pad is still under construction- not new and ready for 2021. Lake is nice and clear, pretty cold(would love to feel it in August or September). Fun to jump into and overall pretty. Wibit should be included or at least offer 1/2 hour slots. Everyone is very nice, close to cute coffee shop and stores in Richmond. Park is in need of updates, just feels used- but can tell that is in process. No COVID restrictions other than"stay distanced" sign, but our adults were vaccinated and we just tried to keep our kids distanced. Good WiFi, everything fairly clean, nice little store w/ inexpensive ice cream. No"bar& grill" as advertised. Newer playground structure, but for younger kids- no swings.

    Thousand Trails Indian Lakes

    disappointed

the good stuff peaceful ,friendly staff and campers, nice fire ring and picnic tables. the bad the online reservation can’t choose the sites or areas so I called the number that was listed for campground and was on hold at a call center somewhere . check in was nice you had to pick whether you were koa or thousand trails then go pick a spot they didn’t know what was available. that went pretty well it was hard navigating through the potholes and mud holes with being 62’ long the spot we found was 30amp with water no sewer at 50$ a night I was disappointed 25$ would have been more realistic

What to do

Water activities at the lake: Prairie Creek Reservoir offers fishing and boating options for cabin guests. Outdoor recreation: Cornerstone Campground provides activities beyond the cabin area. According to a camper, there's a "nice disk golf course. Showers bathroom game room and general store. Nice owners they have church on Sunday. Hardly hear the humm of the hwy. Beautiful views of the surrounding farms."

There is an abundance of activities to keep you and the little ones happy, especially around holidays."

What campers like

Clean facilities: Cabin rentals at Indianapolis KOA feature well-maintained amenities. As one reviewer explained, "Very large KOA. They have all different types of sites. Pull through back in. Super deluxe, deluxe, full hook ups etc. Love the pool if you have kids this would be a place to stay for a few days."

Peaceful settings: Whitewater Memorial State Park Campground cabins provide a quieter alternative. A visitor mentioned that "This is a great place to swim, very quiet. There are plenty of places for picnics and a nice campground."

Recreational options: Kamp Modoc rental cabins access on-site activities. A guest wrote, "We went here Memorial Day weekend and had a great time even though it was chilly and rainy. The pond was great with the inflatables and water toys available for use. The camp store is large and offers food."

What you should know

Reservation policies: Cabin bookings at most locations require significant advance notice, especially for summer weekends. Indianapolis KOA has specific entry procedures - "They had a drop box which was helpful, but no clear checkout time that I saw."

Seasonal considerations: Some cabin facilities close or reduce services in winter months. S and H Campground notes seasonal challenges - "Hancock County had 2" of rain on Friday. The campground (lower) sits at a low elevation. Our site was 70% flooded."

Cabin types and pricing: Mystic Waters Campground offers various cabin options. A reviewer mentioned, "Lisa and Brent have created a perfect spot to relax for a weekend getaway and enjoy the shows at both the campground and at deer creek. RV sites are full hookup and very level."

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Schedule around special events at each property. At S and H Campground, "They have a little section full of carnival like rides. Several playgrounds! Campground big and spacious, highly recommend."

Cabin selection for kids: Choose cabins with proximity to playgrounds and pools. At Cornerstone Campground, "Great for all kinds of camping from primitive to full hook up. Tons of stuff for kids to do. Everyone was friendly."

Food options: S and H Campground provides convenient dining. According to campers, they offer "a pool, worn out putt-putt, a little restaurant, small carnivalesque rides, and a decent camp store. The Saturday night we stayed they were playing a kids movie in one part of the campground."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: When booking cabins near New Castle, check the actual location within the property. At Indianapolis KOA, "We tented for two nights here. The lot was spacious but had a big hill, which made sitting in chairs around a camp fire interesting."

Winter preparations: Cold-weather cabin stays require additional planning. One Whitewater Memorial visitor reported, "I came here and stayed in my tent (family had their horse trailer with camper) for a night during the chilly nights of October. I wish all campsites were like these - very, very spread out!"

Roadway conditions: Access roads to some cabin sites may be unpaved or uneven. At Kamp Modoc, "With anywhere you go, it is important to read the description and look at the pictures. I saw gravel RV sites, that's what I received."
