What to do
Beachfront activities: Warren Dunes State Park Campground provides beach access with impressive sand dunes for climbing. "Huge, beautiful dunes on the beach. Lots of shade and plenty of privacy between sites. The bathroom seemed newer with clean bathrooms and private shower stalls," notes Heidi S., who visited when the campground was at full capacity.

Mountain biking trails: The trail systems near cabin rentals provide varying difficulty levels. "The mountain bike trails were awesome. If you're a trail rider, you must stay here. Swimming options: Many cabins provide swimming access via lake beaches. "We went to the dune's national park and it was awesome for swimming all day and playing in the sand for the kids," explains Monique C. who used Sand Creek Campground as a base for beach visits.
What campers like
Clean bathroom facilities: Most cabin properties maintain regularly serviced facilities. "The bathhouse was a little out dated but clean during our stay. The owners are very nice and laid back," reports Katrin M. about Sand Creek Campground, which serves as an alternative when Indiana Dunes campgrounds are full.
Proximity to Lake Michigan: Cabins provide convenient access to shorelines. "It's only 15 minutes away, and nestled into a residential area so it's a nice option. It's a pretty big campground and there's a nice mixture of grassy, tree lined tent spots and more secluded wooded spots in the woods by the creek," explains Stefanie Z. about Sand Creek's location relative to Indiana Dunes.
Cabin accommodation options: Michigan City Campground offers various cabin styles with amenities. "This is a beautifully kept campground just outside Michigan City, IN. It is gated so will need to call in once you arrive to enter. By the way there are a number of cabins/mini homes to rent," shares Craig C., noting the security features and rental options.
Family-friendly environments: Cabins cater to families with children through dedicated amenities. "This was a fun campground. We were there the week before peak season opened so none of the pools or splash pads were open, but they were very accommodating so that we could still play mini golf and ride around on the pedal cars," shares Chad Y. about Lakeshore Camp Resort.
