Burro Bridge Campground summer season closes September 22nd and reopens on September 23rd at 1/2 price (winter rate - $12.00/night) with only restroom amenities available. This campground will be First Come First Served. Please place your payment (cash or check only) in the envelope, sealed in the fee tube. Pack your trash in and Pack it Out! No trash service available. Guests may contact the Bayfield Ranger Station during this time for more information (970)-884-2512.

Burro Bridge Campground is located near Dolores in the San Juan National Forest. The terrain consists of forested areas with nearby rivers and streams. Campers can explore Mesa Verde National Park and the Anasazi Heritage Center, both less than an hour away, while temperatures range from 30°F in winter to 80°F in summer.

Overview

This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to__first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival__as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service.

Remote, but worth it the drive...

Spent a night here last month. The campground has 12 primitive sites with two separate pit toilets. The campsites and toilets were were all very clean. Not a bad campsite in the campground, but site 11 is the largest and most secluded.
