This is the absolutely most horrible experience I have ever had. There was a group of people that were listening to loud music and singing till 6AM and we could not sleep. We tried talking to them, they said they would only listen to the ranger. Ranger stopped by but nothing changed. At 5 AM we went back to the ranger, but he sent us away. We could not sleep a single minute. Group was extremely aggressive and absolutely horribly loud. Most disappointing was that ranger did nothing and ignored us.
Property manger rude and swearing a lot. Plumbing is pvc pipes and they Break easy, bathroom run down and dirty, Wi-Fi does not work
This is a very cool place. We happened upon this place while traveling across the state. It was so wonderful there that we stayed for 2 days. Personally, I recommend going on a road trip, because you can meet incredible months. Even if you don't have a car, you can always rent one from 14CARS
I have been at ArtFarm Nature space 5 times now always bringing more friends. its the best and funnest campground anywhere and the team at ArtFarm is awesome and fun to be around. Their western Bar is the nicest looking bar anywhere and there is tons of fun activities including hiking with goats, volleyball etc etc. This spot has some amazing view areas to hike to and the stars at night are the best I have seen
I live in the area and still love to camp here. There is also a full 10 x 10 person cabin and mess hall facility that the county rents out at the park.
A little out of the way, but that’s a feature. Spread out spots so you’re not on top of your neighbor. Only 6 full hook ups with only 30 amp, not 50. Other spots have electricity and water only. Our spot has lots of ants. People I’ve dealt with here are very nice. Very beautiful location overlooking a lake. Far from the highway so no traffic noise that I’ve noticed.
Easy checking Cheap with Passport America membership: don’t expect much Level sites, electric (30 used ) water and sewer Little shade - over 106 when there late Aug
I absolutely loved my time at Art Farm. The sunsets made me feel like I was in heaven. I would hike past the water tower and on the trail for hrs. Beautiful sunsets.
Overall nice site with full hookups & wi-fi/cell. Had a nice shade tree but it can be real sunny without one. Laundry right on site! Close to lake Isabella and all of the Kern. Great for last minute reservations too, online booking works
I had a great time. Only complaint was of the previous campers who had left cans and cigarette butts.
This campground has So many options! great walk in secluded rustic camp sites, super social fun camp sites , secluded places to park vans and Campers, and awesome gleaming cottages. best place to sleep is on the top of the mountain infinity deck! Right next to the private Bar area which is like an amazing western Saloon with Billiards and great vibe and Hooka Corner and some amazing Star Gazing! The people here are super friendly and nice and there is a great social vibe for those who like to join others for some great times in nature. be it a hike, star gazing or campfire!
Pretty campground with large, secluded spaces, however, seems to be a local hangout on the weekends. Cars loudly speeding through the campgrounds all day and night until 3am, didn't seem to be any rangers to control the noise. We barely slept.
Not my favorite campground. Very windy, not able to go in the water which was a disappointment for our dogs. Each campsite had plenty of room. Bathrooms with showers. Not much to do around the campground but was enough to drive to town for a bite to eat. Check in was easy, used a code to enter. Never spoke with a campground host.
At first we were a bit disappointed but overall it turned out to be a good location for going to the Trail of 100 Giants and the Kern River. The WiFi didn’t work and the bathroom only had two showers. It needs to be updated but it was clean and the people were nice.
Noting special. Small place for friends . No one around no restrooms
The campsite is really nice if you looking to get away from big crowds. You have to get there early if you want to get a shaded site. Working toilets were a plus and you have room to work with when setting up your gear. The lake or river you do need to drive too which is the only negative remark I have.
Everything was great about this campground. Showers, phones service, WiFi, showers and locks with passcode on the bathroom doors and a pool just to name a few things. Weather was great and we loved everything about staying here.
Brite Lake is a small lake but you can definitely catch some fish! You can camp right up to the water which was awesome! It does get a little windy at times but nothing too crazy 👍
Beautiful spot. Old school mountainside camping in the tall trees. Campsites are around 6,000’, pit toilets, grills, steel fire pits, picnic tables and potable water taps. We spent a night in late May and there were only a few other sites occupied on a Wednesday night. This is a hidden gem. It was 100 in Mojave and 70 in the TMP. Gorgeous tall evergreens and some larger oaks, a few might be old growth? ***Note: this is not a place for large RVs or trailers. The road in is tight and twisty with no shoulders and some trees and rock faces snug up against it. The campground is very steep, the roads are one lane and very very curvy. Some sites are very near each other, others are more dispersed. There are large groups sites.
When they say mountain, they mean mountain! The road to the campground is a narrow, twisty, two lane road. Then we got to the campground and it got narrower and steeper. The grades in some parts of the campground were double digit percent grades and the hairpin turns were very sharp. We were towing a 13' travel trailer and did OK, but I wouldn't want anything bigger than that. Just a warning if you have a bigger rig. We Mostly saw car campers and campers on pick up trucks the night we were there.
The campground itself is basic with vault toilets dispersed throughout the campground. Our site had a water hookup, a picnic table, a fire ring. There were showers at the upper end of the campground but we didn't use them. The cost was $18 per night ($16 for seniors). The campground was very quiet the night we were there, but it also looks like it could be the party spot for locals so it might be more noisy on the weekends and during the summer. Overall I recommend it.
Full hookups, concrete pads, picnic tables. Many full time campers parked with junk around them. The grounds need a ton of cleanup. Not the safest feeling being in this park.
Another great trip here 🤙 suppeerrrr quite
We stopped here on the way from SF to AZ in October. There are lots of open spots, FCFS. Vault toilets and trash cans scattered throughout. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There is a nature trail nearby although we didn’t have time to go check it out. Cost was $18 paid in envelopes at the entrance.
We stayed during the pandemic and CA wildfires, so the lake was low and the amenities were deserted (e.g., bathroom with shower rough and no hot water). That said, we reserved in advance and had a large site for our RV under a huge shade tree; other full hook-up sites, while ample, looked much more exposed. We enjoyed watching the bunnies and squirrels from our camper window and ducks and birds on the lake.
Chill spot! Great hike also!! The scenery is amazing!
I do a lot of camping, this one is a great campground if you want to go swimming, waterskiing, windsurfing, fishing, or just enjoy the beautiful scenic views of Lake Isabella. If this campground is full check out my other review on Boulder Gulch. These camps do get full on holidays and in the summer so always reserve in time. Also what I do like about this site is that they have flushed toilets lol the host is always nice and welcoming. Also your phone will have some service but just make sure to turn it off and enjoy being out in nature. That’s the whole point right 😁. But other than that awesome camp, very clean and only some camps offer shade not all.
CONS: when it does get full, obviously there will be so many people and it does get loud and noisy. People will be playing loud music.

Made reservation on Recreation.gov. Arrived at 4pm. Sites are said to be assigned upon arrival. Camp host was the only tent found pitched in the entire campground. It’s during the pandemic and some places are closed. Campground sign said full. Yelled to see if anyone was there in the campsite and no answer from the camp host. Left a voicemail with campground to let them know my name and reservation info and I have was going to look for a spot. Picked a spot with shade - very few available. Some trees, but not large Sequoias like you may expect since it’s near the Sequoia National Forest. This place is desert hot and might be a bit miserable for folks to just hangout here. There’s no hookups. It’s near Lake Isabella. Went to bed and didn’t see a camp host that evening. ANTS!! So many ants in my camper in the morning. Ack!! Talked to a waitress in town and she says the campground I was at is known for an ant problem. Had to get diatomaceous earth at the hardware store in town along with ant traps galore now that my camper was overrun. Find out from the locals this campground has a reputation for being bad. I had to reconsider my plan to stay there and went elsewhere... so frustrating.
