Float Camp Picnic Area is located only 150 feet from the cool waters of the crystal clear Current River. Visitors enjoy floating the river, fishing and hiking. A campground is only a half-mile away for those who want to stay longer than a day. Natural Features: The picnic area is nestled under a mature forest of hardwoods, which offers plentiful shade. It is adjacent to the Current River. Recreation: The swift-moving river allows for enjoyable float trips, as well as canoeing and great fishing. Swimming is also a popular pastime. Visitors enjoy horseshoe pits and volleyball courts, as well as hiking and other recreational opportunities nearby. Facilities: The day-use picnic area offers an accessible group shelter that can accommodate up to 75 people. The site is equipped with electricity, tables and grills. Individual sites are available on a first come, first served basis. Accessible vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided. Nearby Attractions: Doniphan is four miles away and offers float trip outfitters, restaurants and lodging.
Fourche Lake Recreation Area is a beautiful place to be outside. It is located on V Hwy approx. 2.5 miles off of HWY 160 W. There is a beautiful wooden dock to fish off of or just simply look at the lake. There is a vault toilet and picnic tables for picnickers. The dock, path leading to the dock, and bathroom are all handicapped accessible. There is dispersed camping available at 6 established sites with fire rings. There is no water or electric hookup available. There is a boat launch available only electric motors are allowed. Fourche Lake is 49 acres in size and provides opportunities for catching catfish, panfish and bass.
Small very tidy and spacious campground. Stayed in tent. Clean showers and restroom. $45 for tent site with electrical connection and water.
Was extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience. Bad service with staff and dirty accommodations. Noisey at night. Never going back. Also overpriced.
This campground was perfect for our little family reunion near Paragould. We booked three sites together and they were close enough that it was easy to visit each other. It was also a very nice little campground with lots of shade and the bathrooms were very clean and had showers. We also enjoyed the little lake and playground for the kids. The only downside were the mosquitoes, but one of us had a screened canopy that went over the picnic table, which worked great. We were very impressed with the staff and the campground and will likely return.
Sites are easy to get into and the camp area is kept very clean. Hiking trails right out of the campground for short daily adventures.
Beautiful place to camp. Everyone running the park was super nice and accommodating. The only drawback that I can think of was the mosquitos. Shower house/bathroom cleaned and well maintained.
Everything about this park is amazing. They recently redid the swimming area and cleaned and refilled with better water. They have paddle boats you can rent from Memorial Day through Labor Day. We have stayed many trips in this park. Site 1 is our favorite. Features pull through with a large area including tent pad and nice gathering area. We glamp camp and we’re able to set up a 16x20 tent, but the tent did go over the size of the pad. All sites have water and electricity, except for a few primitive sites. There is a nice campground and walking area. Also a great hiking trail which isn’t too hard. The park is close to Paragould with a Walmart and a dollar general is a couple miles away. The only site I wouldn’t recommend is site 9. It has a very steep hill and would only be good for very small campers or tent camping.
Beautiful, peaceful, smaller campground with a small lake, a river, hiking trails and historic sites with interpretive signage. We had a 50amp FHU site and were able to get our 44' 5th wheel in site #2, which allowed us a lovely view of the lake. It would be easier to back rigs into the sites if they didn't have the wooden signs at the entrance to each site with the site#, but we got in with lots of back and forthing. Larger sites, beautiful trees and surrounded by the changing colors of the leaves in mid-October.
They did a stellar job of putting in sites on this ridge. They're pretty level although pretty close together. Water & electric and reasoonably priced. Both ATT & Verizon worked well. The wifi info listed above must be at the office only, as there was not signal near us, we use a hot spotor our phones.
Site was spacious. Right near the water .beach was spacious but very rocky and the water was freezing even in the 105 degree heat it has a nice play area .nice play for a day or two trip and there are no hot showers until ????

Single lane campground road extremely tight. If campsites across from ours wasn’t empty, it would of been extremely difficult to get our 28ft backed-in
Our reserved campsite#4 was occupied upon our arrival and campers tried to convince us to take another site that they were suppose to move to, but it was much smaller, so we declined
Never saw any rangers patrolling campground
Train noise from tracks in Harrisburg

One-lane dump station
No TP in campground toilets
No camp-host or even a full hook up site for one

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend. Every site was booked but not crowded. Had a wonderful time fishing and hiking the 1.3 mile trail. This was our first stay, but will return. No Cell service for ATT. There is WiFi at the bathhouse, but was very sketchy due to the busy weekend. No swimming at the park. It is not allowed. Fishing is catch and release only except for Catfish and Brim due to recently reopening the lake.
With the word RIDGE in it's name you pretty much know what to expect. These folks made it work. All sites are pretty level. if not level. Water & electric at all sites with picnic table, fire rine and stand up BBQ grill. Nice tree lined road, albeit very tight with on comming trafic, as are their interior roads. ATT & Verizon cell services were both useable just not the strongest..
Got here Sunday afternoon there wereo only3 others. With my disability pass the one night was only $12.79, tax & all.
This was a great nightover for us and would stay here again, but not as destination park.
Stayed one night tent camping. We enjoyed that the park had several different short hiking trails of various length. Only downside was I wish the tent camping spots were spread out a little further, you can hear eachother's conversations because they are all side by side, maybe 15 yards a part.
Another great Arkansas State Park! The campground is small, but the sites are nice. Arkansas has some of the best bathhouses as well! There is a really nice playground and also a walking trail that you can access from the campground.
The lake has finally been repaired and they have begun the refill process after is has been dry for several years.
The town of Harrisburg is close by in case you need to make a store run or grab some food. There is a small store here at the park, but it was closed while we were here, so I’m not sure how much stuff they have to offer.
Great I need to know how much a month if I put my RV or my camper on and stay in it
This place has not been maintained well in a long time. It could be greatly improved with some sweat equity, but it’s obvious that nobody wants to take the time to do so
Do not waste your money on this campground. Very rude staff and very dangerous electrical system!
We wish we had more time here, despite a severe storm coming in the park is awesome. The camp sites were the most well kept that i have ever seen. The bathrooms are the cleanest that we have experienced. The ability to walk trails, play on the playground or run around an open field makes this a place for families.
We spend the whole summer here and couldn’t ask for a more friendly place! It’s perfect, from being right on the water to allowing pets! They provide everything needed to float but your cooler and food! They will carry you up river and your float ends at the campground! Been coming here 30 years and counting!
Right outside of historic Hardy AR, this is a quiet campground with large grass sites, power and water and on site dump station. Hardy is a cool downtown area, but everything closes down here by 6pm. We had a beautiful site on the river!
For a state park it was pretty quiet. We're Seniors and I think we were the loudest..lol. Has shower and bathrooms, pavilions available to rent and a few cabins. Its small for rv park..we liked Lot 9 is the best..most secluded except for the trail paths.
Five miles north of Doniphan, MO on State Hwy 160 Hwy Y head north for about five miles take a left on Forest Road 4349. Continue down and veer to the left to go to the boat ramp and day use area. Go right to the Deer Leap Campground.
ON the east bank of the Current River you will find dispersed camping. There are seven campsites with fire ring, table and lantern post. No trash service but there is a pit toilet and water. Campsites are First Come, First Served. No fireworks allowed.
The campground and boat launch is located in the Mark Twain National Forest under the Eleven Point Ranger District. The district is named after the Eleven Point River which was designated a National Scenic River in 1968. The Eleven Point District provides a plethora of fishing, tubing and all kinds of boating options.
Take the time to float some of the rivers for a vision of rocky bluffs, springs, birds, wildlife and local vegetation. You are permitted to camp on the gravel bars found along the rivers and there are several primitive float camps while you are floating.
There are so many activities that go hand in hand with fishing and tubing such as horseback riding, hiking, hunting, mountain biking and just gazing at the stars.
At the launch site there is limited parking for floaters. You can launch tubes, motorized and non motorized boats here. There is also a pit toilet. Be very careful because on the fourth the area was very crowded. There is a vendor in the area to rent tubes and kayaks and provide shuttle service.
The water is so beautiful, clear and moving along. The clear, green water has the power to entice just about anyone to dip their toes in. Remember that during the summer this river will be very crowded but even with the crowds there was more than enough room. During the spring or fall this would be a great to kayak. Floater access in the campground is from 4/1 - 10/1. Boat ramp is open all year.

Better Than When You Found It
From Thayer Missouri travel on MO 142 east, turn onto MO V for several miles and look for the Fourche Lake sign on the right, immediate turn to the right. No more than a couple of miles down a well maintained gravel road you will see a boat launch. The road will bear to the left and maybe a tenth of a mile you will see the first campsite. Total peace and tranquility will invade your senses and take over your being.
At Fourche Lake you will find dispersed camping at it's best. A well maintained pit toilet with toilet tissue and a fishing dock. The fishing dock is handicap accessible along with a small day use area with a picnic table but no camping in that small area. The pit toilet is handicap accessible. There are suppose to be six camping sites but we could only work out three. Picnic table, fire pit, no water, electric or trash service. Our fire pit had burned items that do not burn. Please people PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT.
On a calm day you will have wonderful photo ops of a mirror image on the lake. The trees surrounding Fourche Lake provide a beautiful backdrop of perfection. This is a very small campsite and for most of our stay we were the only ones there. Fishermen would come and go and anyone who did camp was very quiet. Boating in the lake is by paddle or electric motor only.
Bring all your camping supplies with you otherwise you will have at least a thirty minute or longer trip in front of you. Remember this roads are narrow, curvy, and hilly. Typical back roads in the Ozarks. If you do need anything when you drive back to the highway turn right and just a matter of a few miles you will find a service station and they might have what you need. They also have gas at a reasonable price considering you are in RURAL Missouri.
If you plan to go fishing make sure you have your license because even if this is a dispersed site we saw a ranger at least once every day. If fishing you will find catfish, bass and panfish. Good luck. BTW swimming is allowed.
The grass was freshly mowed and smelled wonderful. No mosquitoes, flies, tick or chiggers, course we stayed out of the woods. Do not know if that is the norm or we were just lucky. If you hope to use solar and need to recharge the site next to the pit toilet at the round about will give you some sun No trails to be found.
The closest actual town would be Doniphan, Missouri. Check out Doniphan if you are able to pull yourself away from the lake. It is an older Ozark town and the courthouse with its old jail on the ground floor is rather interesting. You will also find a great tubing and or kayaking river. There is a vendor that will rent kayaks or tubes and shuttle you up the river so you can have an amazing time. Pack a lunch and hang out on one of the gravel bars along the river.
I listed that this could be a group site and pull through area because the first campsite has it's own road and is a large site. Easy for more than one rig.
A park has been at this location since 1955. It was originally a trailer park but has been converted to a RV park. Located in flat farm land a few miles from Blytheville There is no pool or playground. RV’er will find flat gravel sites that can handle most if not all rigs. They have sites with 30 and 50 amp service. You will find rates for daily weekly and monthly. Some mature trees for shade and some full sun sites.
There’s a nice river next to the campground for swimming and boating. The whole place is a nice quiet setting. The sites themselves are not on top of each other. I’ve had good Verizon signal here.
Currently has 8 electric only sites, and 12 tent sites. All are first come, first serve. There are water spigots available for fresh water. The only dump station is in town at the Rocky River Resort, $10. The host told me that the three year plan is to have all sites set up for water and electric, with a dump station at the top of the hill. I’m staying here 5 days, spot #4, and the campground hosts are a nice couple. I’d recommend it.
Very nice campground with 30something sites. Mostly 30 amp with a few 50 scattered about. Sites were not the fartherest apart, but each was very spacious. Large level gravel sites with water, but no sewer. Free, but spotty wifi throughout the campground. Shower house was new with 4 separate rooms. ATT & Verizon cell was decent. Did not try OTA TV.
I didn’t get to spend much time here but I tent camped for 1 night in November. Beautiful park with lots of trees. Clean bathrooms. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to do anything but the park looks great.
