Best RV Parks & Resorts near Clinton, AR

Several RV parks surround Clinton, Arkansas, offering year-round accommodations for motorhome travelers. Clinton RV Park provides full hookups with both 30 and 50 amp electrical service, water connections, and sewer hookups on level sites that accommodate big rigs. Just south of Clinton, Boston Mountain Pizza RV Park features water and electric hookups with a sanitary dump station on site. Golden Pond RV Park in nearby Shirley remains open year-round with full hookup sites, 50 amp service, and amenities designed for larger motorhomes. Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina, located on Highway 330 S, offers water and electric hookups with a dump station about half a mile from the camping area. "Our site had the back of our trailer overlooking the lake. That was okay, we just set up our chairs behind the trailer for an enjoyable view. But the truck was at such an angle because the sites are level but on a steep slope," noted one RV camper about Fairfield Bay.

Most RV parks in the Clinton area are pet-friendly and provide gravel pads with varying degrees of levelness. Cell service varies significantly between locations, with some parks offering WiFi for an additional fee. Mountain View RV Park, about 30 miles northeast of Clinton, operates from March through December with concrete pads and full hookups for larger rigs. Navigation to some parks requires attention to road conditions, particularly during winter months when Ozark Mountain roads can become challenging. Dump stations are available at most parks, though Blue Sky RV Park notably lacks this amenity. Seasonal availability affects some locations - Whitewater RV Park in Mountain View only operates from mid-March through early November, while Lakeside RV Park in Tumbling Shoals runs from May through September. Advance reservations are recommended during peak fishing seasons when many parks fill with anglers targeting the region's lakes and rivers.

    Whitewater RV Park

    No frills Downhome

Mountain View is a great small town in the Arkansas Ozarks. This is not the place to come if you have to be entertained but can make your own fun or settle back and relax. Whitewater RV Park sounds exciting, high speed but no. Time to kickback, read a book, head to the square and listen to the ozark mountain music they are famous for. You can find all kinds of things to do and a place to stay is at Whitewater RV Park on a quiet town street not that far off from the court square. Free WiFi and if you pay extra you can get high speed wireless. Cable tv, pull through sites, dump station, full hook ups, laundry, shower house, flush toilets. This park has mature trees with lots of shade. It is located walking distance from the courthouse which is in the middle of the square. Granted it is UP the hill but it makes for a nice walk. In the square during the season you will often find locals and visitors picking and singing. It is a treat and free for the enjoyment. Mountain View also has one of the few remaining Drive In movie theaters. Check this place out for the weekly and monthly rates. Stay six nights and get seventh one free. For a small town Mountain View has so much to offer it’s guests. It brings our minds to days gone be. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at Ozark Folk Center. Few campgrounds have pools but you can find a creek to dip your toes in. You have your choice of stand up paddle board canoe kayak Loco Ropes mountain biking hiking antiquing movie’s trail rides fishing I think you have the idea. MOVIES. Mountain View has a movie theater and one of the few drive in theaters left in th USA. Both offer first run movies.
Have fun. Leave No Trace. Better than you found it.

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

    Fantastic State Park

Camped here on May 1, 2025. This is one of my favorite state parks in the USA. Lots to do here. Fantastic hiking trails - rated from easy to difficult. Since I live only 45 minutes from this park, I normally come here for the day for hiking. This time, I got around to trying out the park's campground. This popular campround is divided into 4 areas - A through D. There are a total of 125 campsites, including 26 pull-through sites. Thirty-five of the sites are Class AAA sites which have 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. There are 90 Class B sites offering 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Tent and hammock camping is possible depending on the sites. I camped at site 103 in Area D. The staff at the office helped me pick this site for my campervan. The site had water and 30amp service. The restroom/shower house was clean and well maintained. The campsite itself was dated but clean. The site was large and had trees around it offering a little bit of privacy. The pull-thru drieway was close to the campground road. The site included a picnic table, tent pad, lantern pole, metal fire ring, and grill. Solar charging and Starlink connectivity may not be possible at this site; Area C has an open sky above it. There was some road noise from vehicles driving on Petit Jean Mountain Road which is behind the site. Received good AT&T 5G cell service, but little to no T-Mobile 2G service.  Areas C and D are in the woods. Most of the sites in these areas are on the small size but should easily accomodate a truck camper and smaller. Not all sites are level. Areas A and B can accomodate large rigs and towables.

    Blue Sky RV Park

    Great Spot

This place is so much bigger than it looks. Great pull through sites. Great sites for family camping. It is located not far from town on a busy highway Highway 5 but once you pull off the road you would never know. Very shaded and mature trees. Owner has tried to think of everything but you will not find a swimming pool There are several outside family games and the local area is Loaded with fun things to do. Blue Sky even has event space that you can rent if you are staying in the park. 30 and 50 amp service cable TV available, free WiFi high speed with additional charge. Weekly and monthly rates available and check out the seventh night free. White River is not far, bring a boat or rent one. Trout fishing is great. Your options are open in this small community.  Get ready because Arkansas has ticks, chiggers, and humidity.
Far a small town Mountain View has so much to offer it’s guest. It brings our minds to days gone by. Weekends will find pickers on the square and concerts at the Ozark Folk Center. Few campgrounds have a pool but you can always head to the creek for a dip. Stand up paddle board, canoe, kayak, Loco Ropes, mountain bikes, hiking, antiquing, trail rides, fishing. I think that gives you ideas. Mountain View has a movie theatre and one of the last remaining drive in theaters left in the USA. You will find first run movies at both. Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel

Good Things Come In Small Packages

I have driven by this campground numerous times not paying a lot of attention. Today I paid attention and realized I have made a mistake. There is a high fence that assist in keep this corner of Mountain View private. An oasis for anyone that wishes to venture in. A traveler will find a welcome smile and an amazing view. They will also find a well maintained campground and a motel. The campground offers concrete pads or gravel, 30 and 50 amp service, full hook ups, cable tv, wi-fi, high speed for extra fee, coin operated laundry, community fire pit with wood provided, dog friendly, showers and toilets and more. The motel offers all the amenities you would expect to find in a branded hotel/motel. There are eight motel rooms and two cabins available for rent. Both the campground and motel have access to two recreation rooms. Both have full kitchens, tv, stereo, dining tables and chairs. One recreation room has limited exercise equipment. There is 1.5 acres of green space that is also available for all guest. The view from the green space is worth dreaming over that morning cup of coffee. There are things you will not find in many campgrounds in Mountain View. Much of the entertainment in this area will be of a natural source. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at the Ozark Folk Center. If you want to take a dip look to the creeks or the river. Stand up paddle boarding, canoe, kayak, Loco Ropes, mountain bike trails, hiking, antiquing, trail rides, fishing and I’m sure you get the idea. Movies. There is a movie theatre and the cherry on top is a drive in movie. Mountain View Drive In is one of only a few left in the US. You will find first run movies at both.

    Red River RV Park

    Nice clean, small RV park

Nice clean, small RV park at Highway 67/167 and CW Road in Judsonia, one exit north of the Searcy Race Street exit. 30 spaces total with 3 pull through sites. No internet or laundry on-site but the electrical set up is good. Water and sewer are in good locations but the water connection box was holding water during our stay. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. My Verizon LTE hotspot averaged between 5 and 10 Mbps down and 0.8 to 1.6 up. My Verizon 5g phone averaged 75 to 85 Mbps down and 28 to 35 Mbps up. One of my neighbors was on a T-mobile 5g hotspot and was consistently over 50 Mbps download.

    Dam Site Campground

    Very nice and clean

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend in early September. We had a pull through site in loop N that was perfect for our 41’ fifth wheel...plenty big, clean, and level. It was a little sunny, but other than that no complaints. The other loops were more wooded, but wouldn’t be good for big rigs. We will definitely come again.

    Dam - Quarry

    Clean campground, nice location

Average space between sites. Level paved sites with gravel picnic area including picnic table, fire ring, lantern hanger. Some sites had covered picnic area. Limited shade, most sites don’t have trees. Good access to sites. Clean and private bathrooms. Each room had its own lockable bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Garbage cans were outside of bathrooms, as well as dumpsters near the registration building. Friendly staff upon check in. Campground was patrolled regularly. No laundry or recycling. Nearby road with little road noise. Verizon cell signal was excellent. There is a dump station and potable fill station. No store or food for purchase on site. No hiking in campground, but multiple trails nearby. Boat ramp at campground and lots of wading fly fishing in river. Fish hatchery across from campground.

    Sylamore Creek Camp

    Great site!

We love this campground. We love having direct access to creek. It is kayak, family, pet friendly. The only thing it is lacking is internet connection, which for us is a plus for disconnecting. All sites are reasonably level. Site F is the premium and most secluded full hook up site. They have all levels of sites: primitive, water and electric, or full. Their small store has firewood and many other convenient items for sale. We take our own kayaks, but they do have rentals. They have public showers and restrooms, but the restrooms are currently closed due to renovations. It’s really one of our favorite local sites to camp.

Greers Ferry Dam Site is one of several around the lake created by the Greers Ferry Dam which created the 40,000 acre lake.  The dam was dedicated by John F Kennedy one month prior to his death.

Be aware that many of the sites might be hard to back into or hard to level your rig.  The area is thickly wooded and that might make it difficult.  There are a lot of large moss covered rocks that help to set the scene for  wooded wonderland for tents and smaller rigs.  Check your site before parking this park like many of the Corp of Engineer parks are older and built with tent and small RV's in mind.  It is a beautiful site and in Arkansas you must try the fishing

Directions:  3 miles northeast of Heber Springs, AR by way of SR 25 Bypass.

Guide to Clinton

RV parks near Clinton, Arkansas operate in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains at elevations ranging from 500-1,200 feet. The region experiences distinct seasons with summer temperatures averaging 85-95°F and winter lows frequently dipping below freezing. Most campgrounds in this area are situated within 30 minutes of Greers Ferry Lake, a 40,000-acre reservoir with 340 miles of shoreline that draws anglers and boaters.

What to do

Fishing at Greers Ferry Lake: Several campgrounds provide access to renowned fishing spots. At Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina, campers can feed catfish right from the marina dock. "I remember one of my favorite things when I went there as a child was when they'd give me a bag of fish food to throw to the massive catfish off the dock," recalls one visitor.

Folk music gatherings: The downtown area of Mountain View, about 30 miles from Clinton, hosts regular music sessions. "Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at the Ozark Folk Center," notes a camper who stayed at Blue Sky RV Park. This park provides a convenient base for experiencing local culture.

Hiking trails: The region offers numerous wilderness paths for all skill levels. "If you like hiking, you can go less than a quarter mile off almost any main road and see abundant wildlife, a meandering creek, sometimes even a waterfall! There are hiking trails literally everywhere, of all kinds of difficulty levels," explains a camper from Fairfield Bay.

What campers like

Privacy and quiet: Many campgrounds around Clinton provide peaceful settings. At Golden Pond RV Park in Shirley, campers appreciate the tranquil atmosphere. "This was a really sweet campground to stay at for a week. The true highlight was the small trail to the turquoise pond. It was so peaceful and beautiful - we spent a lot of time there!" reports one visitor.

Concrete pads: Level, stable sites make setup easier. "Our site was very long. It was nice to be able to unhook and have plenty of room for the 5th wheel and truck," notes a camper from Blue Sky RV Park about their concrete pad. Some parks like Mountain View RV Park offer both concrete and gravel options.

Recreational facilities: Some campgrounds provide on-site activities. "There are several outside family games and the local area is loaded with fun things to do," writes a Blue Sky RV Park visitor. Golden Pond RV Park features "an above-ground swimming pool" along with "a playground and laundry."

What you should know

Seasonal closures: Many rv parks near Clinton, Arkansas operate on limited schedules. Mountain View RV Park runs "March 1 to December 1," while Whitewater RV Park operates "March 15 to 1st week November." Always call ahead during off-season months.

Sloped terrain: The hilly landscape creates challenging parking situations. "You better have extra chuck blocks, because your tow vehicle sits on a heck of an angle, at my site," warns a Fairfield Bay RV Campground visitor.

Variable cell service: Connectivity fluctuates throughout the region. At Golden Pond RV Park, a camper reported "Not much for cell service - at best 1 bar with AT&T." Blue Sky RV Park offers "free WiFi" with "high speed with additional charge."

Tips for camping with families

Animal attractions: Children enjoy campgrounds with resident animals. Golden Pond RV Park has "goats, chickens, dog" that are "penned up. The kids enjoyed visiting there everyday," according to one family. They also have "a little koi pond" that children find fascinating.

Drive-in theater access: Whitewater RV Park in Mountain View puts you near one of America's few remaining drive-in theaters. "Mountain View has a movie theater and one of the few drive in theaters left in th USA. Both offer first run movies," notes a camper.

City parks: Look for campgrounds near public recreation areas. "City park near by to walk your dog," mentions a Whitewater RV Park visitor, while another adds that "A nice park for walking is next door."

Tips from RVers

Leveling challenges: Many sites require significant adjustment. "Hard to level. We were unable to use auto level and had to manually level. The front jacks were hardly down at all and the back jacks will all the way down," reports a Blue Sky RV Park camper.

Dump station locations: When selecting an rv park in Clinton, Arkansas, verify dump station access. At Fairfield Bay RV Campground, the "dump site [is] about half mile away, with dumpsters for trash." Some parks like Blue Sky notably lack this amenity completely.

Tree clearance: Many parks maintain overhead space for larger rigs. "Lots of tall trees that are well trimmed above RV's," notes a Blue Sky RV Park visitor. Another camper confirms: "Very shaded and all tree limbs are high enough to not hit our unit."
