Packed

Packed in like sardines. Spaces are pretty small. Literally got one truck barely. Nice hosts and next to the creek. If you like being next to 20-30 people then this is your place. Community camping for sure. They do have showers and keep the toilets pretty clean.

Hidden gem

Wow. This site was amazing. It's nestled in between the canyon and the highway with a river to the side. There are a lot of sites here and yet a lot of them feel secluded. There are beautiful tall trees for hammocking or wandering through as well as hikes right from camp.

The camp host was very friendly and put me on a wait list for a first come first serve as we showed up at 9am seeing if we could get some space when the whole lot was booked up. She called me at 11 and told me she had a spot available! Very lucky on this one.

They have showers and bathrooms as well as multiple fresh water spouts around camp.

I would come back here in a heartbeat. I only wish I could have stayed longer. 10/10

Beautiful area, tight spaces

This location provides ample hammock spots amongst very tall pines and canyon walls. This is best for tents, vans, or pop ups. The pads are very narrow and short, and many are less than 3 feet from neighboring pads. If a spot here says max vehicle length is 30 then you can be guaranteed to have a little less than 8ft x 30 ft on that pad.

We had reservations for E7 and spent one night there but the pad was 18" off level front to back and 6" off to the side. We had to park our tow vehicle by the entry and our neighbors cars were less than 5 feet from our camper's door. We were lucky there were cancellations in our group and could move to another site for the rest of the stay.

The camp hosts are friendly and helpful and very diligent in making this a great place for families.

My kids' favorite part was the soft sand base for the site. We made a small network of roads with their little construction trucks and created small fairy villages with makeshift sand walls.

Very friendly staff!

The staff here are very helpful and nice. The scenery is awesome and also a great place for star gazing. There are bathrooms and showers available for about $4-6 , they also sell firewood, ice and a few other useful items at the entrance. Bring your own firewood or purchase theirs, because you cannot chop wood in the campsite

Excellent Campsites with a big problem

Stay 8/7-8/9 2021. F 5 (next to Creek access) Good shade, showers and water, restroom

$22 per night. So popular that you have to come to the office in the morning like 7am to secure the First come First serve spot

After 2 nights (Sat, Sun), I concluded this is not for me.

camp fires make air quality unacceptable. If you have breathing issue, you will suffer. It's like California wildfire making hazardous air quality for the surrounding area.

Nice oasis

Great campground, somewhat large and busy in the summer. Canyon gets a little humid, but the spring makes for a great refresher with its many pools and one large pool where campers dive off the rocks. Will camp here again but not in the height of summer.

Great spot

We had a very pleasant experience. Multiple park employees said this campground was their favorite in the area. We enjoyed exploring further down Oak Creek - there’s a small pond the further you walk along it. It was very busy, however, and not quiet. Lots of kids crying and at night, a bunch of people kept howling and making barking sounds. However, it did get quiet around 10:45pm. Aside from the noise, it was a wonderful spot and one of our favorites we have been in so far.

Trees & tons of fun

Campground was very nice and the bathrooms are pretty centrally located to each loop. Camp site was more than big enough for 5 of us with two tents and the views of the stars at night were everything. Rules were clearly stated and though there were many they made sure to tell us to have fun. Stopped in for first come first serve and there was quite a few spaces to choose from. Will definitely camp there again.

Shaded, clean, militaristic hosts

Stayed here a few times. Shaded spots and the creek is nearby, Sedona not far, and an old apple Orchard/homestead is by the property. Stopped going due to the rigid and militaristic campground hosts that patrol in their golf carts endlessly. Watch out for skunks! There are some pretty cute skunks but they aren’t afraid of humans nand will venture into the site. We ended up on top of the table a few times. Great spot for kids wanting to bike around.

All you need in a camp.

This campground has tons of sites to choose from many of them a short walk from the creek. There’s a swimming hole on the creek nearby. The hosts are very helpful and keep the place looking really nice. It’s an idyllic spot with sycamores, oaks, and pines. Most of the spots have ample room so that you can only hear your neighbors if they are yelling. There’s a steel fire ring and picnic table at each site. The concession stand where you check in sells firewood at $7 a bundle (~5 pieces) and ice at $2 for a small bag and $3 for a large and some limited food items including ice cream and marshmallows (although they run out!). The campground feels like a small neighborhood with all of the loops and roads in it. It’s definitely worth the money you pay!

Beautiful river

Even though it said this was full online, we walked up on a Tuesday around noon in August and was able to snag a beautiful spot. I would recommend the sites that border the forest/mountains like 8E versus the spots in the middle because those are too close to each other. Our spot was pretty secluded and was happy to have it. There is a short walk to a swimming hole with a rock you can jump off or you can hang out at any part along the river that runs by the campground.

We got so lucky to arrive the first day that they were allowing campfires. There wasn’t any wildlife that we had to deal with, not even mosquitos! Perfect weather and a great start to our camping road trip!

Beautiful, friendly, and refreshing.

Was a bit skeptical when we pulled up. Staff was perfect, very on top of this. Campground was clean, bathrooms were clean once they drained them. Of course you can only keep them as clean as the people using them. The creek, and pools were wonder and made a miserable hot day refreshing. Will camp her in the future and I highly recommend this camp.

Sedona at it's best!

Cannot get enough of this place! Beautiful campground hidden amongst tall pine trees and nestled between a mountain and A creek. The pit toilets are the cleanest I ever seen, very well vented so no smells. The camp sites are not very spacious so u will hv to choose them carefully if u are bringing an RV. All back in parking no pull thrus. The hosts and rangers are very friendly and informative.

Staff is friendly, informative and the grounds are meticulous. Not to mention the obvious of the soul of Sedona! Bubbling creek, fishing and wonders of nature. Love to visit again.

Close to Sedona but worlds apart!

Stopped here on our way back to California from Colorado. It was the middle of August so we were looking for somewhere with some water and shade and we found both. It is definitely a popular campground with lots of families but if you can get a spot it is an amazing little retreat. We were tent camping and had plenty of shade and only a short walk to the creek (it is a creek not a river but still nice to put your feet in and cool down). Put toilets but they were well maintained for how crowded the campground was. Despite the crowds, a lot of the campgrounds are decent size and even if not secluded give you some space. Not my favorite destination but for the area and price it was amazing.

Dark Skies + Cool Nights

We tent camped here in July and really appreciated the cool temperatures at night. The drive to the campground (either direction) is breathtaking and dramatic, and we loved the stream near our site. We thought the site was a good size- we didn’t feel anyone was too close. You can see so many stars above the ponderosas, and it smells amazing! No bug bites either, so that was a plus! The first night we were there, the bathrooms were completely full and dirty, but they were clean the second night. Showers are $4 for 8 minutes, and no electricity at the sites. $22 per night.

Convenient to Sedona hiking

We stayed here for one night, arrived on a weekday in late May and had no problem finding a site. Some sites are very close together, we found one with a level parking pad that was fairly secluded and was perfect.

Toilets are vault toilets (well kept and clean when we stayed), and there is drinking water available Throughout the campground. They even had buckets hanging from these to use for putting out your campfire. There is a small camp store at the entrance for supplies, and firewood is available for purchase. There are also token operated showers.

The campground is right off of 89A, our site was away from the road and was very quiet. There was a nice view of the red rock behind us. It is convenient to many other local parks and hiking, including slide rock and West fork. It is a quick ride into the downtown area of Sedona as well, and less than an hour to Flagstaff.
