Ponderosa Pine forest, roadside campground.

This campground is right off of the main road leading into Sedona. The showers are $4 each. The sites are relatively close in proximity. The bathrooms are vault style. Try and reserve a site away from bathrooms and road to reduce noise and light pollution. There are many trees which make hammock camping a favorable option. Beautiful creek runs along the site. Camp hosts are very friendly! Running water. Soft pine needle forest floor. Brisk temperatures in the night, 50's and high's in the 90's.

Great for tent camping!

Great place for tent camping with a friendly staff and nice amenities. The campground sits on Oak Creek, and is in the perfect location where you are far enough away from Sedona city center to have some peace and quiet, and within an amazing setting of red rocks, tall pines and the sound of a creek surround you. The tent sites are spacious, and offer plenty of privacy. The campground has shower facilities, a small general store where you can get firewood and small groceries, and restrooms. The pit toilets are a bit nasty; I wish they would update them and make them a little cleaner and user-friendly...lol. They can get really disgusting and stink horribly during warmer weather. But the rest of the experience here makes the restrooms the least of the issues. We always stay here when in Sedona.

Wonderful escape from the low desert.

The sites are clean, well spaced, and all under a canopy of green trees. The Oak Creek runs next to the loop A sites and is fun and refreshing to walk along. Weekends can fill quickly, but weekdays have far fewer people. Be warned, we were told that the summer months are busy week long and can get loud with partying college kids. Camp hosts have been making an effort to enforce the quiet hours because of this.

Best in the area

This is my personal favorite campground between Sedona and Flag. It is an exceptionally large campground, so some sites are better than others. They do have one loop that takes reservations, but majority of sites are first come, first served. I have personally never had any issue with getting my favorite spot, so long as I show up early.

Majority of campsite is surrounded by trees, making this spot shaded throughout the day.

Good amount of sites sit right next to the Creek. Oak Creek does run along the 89, so some road noise might be present if you choose these. My fav site is, but road noise has never bothered me as it’s minimal in my opinion. campsites have fire rings, grills, and tables. They also have coin operated showers, and they are warm, yet I’ve only used them one time. Water is available onsite. South of this campground there is a free well that has some of the best water in AZ!

there is also a ‘General Store’ near entrance, which offers fire wood and other basic supplies. Camp hosts have always been super nice here, even though they can be quite strict about quiet times.

On the South end of the campground, there is a trail you can follow along side the Creek. some Creek hopping is required. On the North end of campsite, is a wide open field, so if you want to play with your friends, dogs, fly a kite, whatever, it’s there!

Directly across the campground entrance, on other side of 89, is a moderate hiking trail that will take you uphill to fantastic views.

Overall, this is a fantastic campground. Yes, the ‘cave’ is fenced off, but other than that and the strict quiet times (choose the right campsite and as long as you’re respectful quiet time isn’t a problem) this spot rocks!

Nice park, shaded with temps cooler than nearby Sedona

Very nice campround that is shaded (good for the summer) with a nearby spring. I would give it a higher rating if not for it being so near the road and having road noise that was not too bad but still wished there was less of it.

Cave springs

I have been coming to this campsite since i was a kid. Seen may changes. Its still one of my favorite campsites to visit, but if you go with a group this is not the place for you there very strict and do a head count to make sure you don't exceed 8 per site. And they watch you like a hawk.

Absolutely Beautiful

Tucked into Oak Creek canyon, surrounded by trees, red dirt mountain sides, and a creek this campground is stunning. Though close to the road, it is farthest set back than the other campground next door. A short drive gets you to Flagstaff or Sedona and it is a gorgeous drive either way. One of my favorite campgrounds.

National Forest with lots of forest to explore

Unique wooded grounds and lots of water and geologic formations that make it feel very different from the nearby areas. This campground is deep in the National Forests between Flagstaff and Phoenix and not far from the highway or Sedona. Since it’s so beautiful and there is so much to do with hiking and swimming, this is a fairly crowded place to stay, but it wasn’t overly noisy or anything. The campground has alot of amenities and is similar to many other National Parks types of campgrounds, semi-rustic but not overly developed, quite nice. The “commute” to Sedona or Flagstaff is about a half hour, very pretty drives. Campground isn’t anything too special except that it is so wonderfully wooded in a state not known for such forests. The park itself is great. Enjoy!

Cave Springs Campground, near Sedona, AZ

One of the most lush & beautiful campgrounds I've ever seen. Felt like a rain forest, with moisture in the air, trickling creek water nearby, birds chirping. Ok, it's like the Garden of Eden! All first come, first serve sites, except in Loop A. Friendly camp hosts, a little general store, clean bathrooms, shower facilities, water available from taps, no hookups, no dump station.

Nice camp but noisy

This campground is well kept, nice sites, but also close to highway so noise is a problem. Current rate is $22 a night, a little pricey in my mind when you consider that restrooms feature vault toilets and no running water. Showers are available ($4). Close to Sedona. The camp office does include a small store which carries some food items and supplies. The fire rings are very deep which in my opinion ruins a fire unless you are using it to cook. Some sites can be reserved.

Gorgeous campground near Sedona

We stumbled across Cave Springs campground on a roadtrip across the Southwest. We added Sedona as a last minute stop, and it ended up being one of our favorite stops on the trip! Sedona itself is known for the beautiful red rock formations, which make great day trips and local hikes, but the Cave Springs campground itself seems like a totally different environment. It is a wooded area, with a crystal-clear creek nearby that is surrounded by wild blackberry bushes. We had an amazing time swimming in the creek, exploring it's rocky shores, and indulging in fresh blackberries. The campsites have a community bathroom facility that has a chemical toilet, but no showers. The campsite welcome center (where you check in) sells some snacks, water bottles, firewood, and other necessities if you forget anything. The campsites are quite spacious and have access to a fresh water pump.

Sliding rock is nearby and makes a fun day trip, although it can get crowded. We completed the hikes to devil's bridge and Cathedral rock, and both were amazing and offered beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness. North of the campsite, there is a navajo trading post you can stop by if you want to shop or check out authentic native pottery, jewelry, etc.

Excellent Location and Wonderful Staff!

Location: The location of the campground is perfect for all of the Sedona activities. This campground is only a few miles from the popular Slide Rock State Park. It is also not too far from Flagstaff if you want to head further north to take in the lush pines of Northern Arizona. Campsites: The campsites were pretty good sized. They all come with a picnic table and fire ring. The campsites that are on the outside perimeter of the campground have more privacy than those on the inner loops. I wouldn't call them private though by any means. Campground Amenities: The Oak Canyon Creek flows through the campground which allows for fishing onsite. There is a large open area to play frisbee or catch. The bathhouse was clean, and costs $4 for a shower. The toilets are satellites. In the morning, these facilities are very busy. There is firewood for sale and a nice small store for necessities. Campground Staff: Everyone that I talked to was incredibly nice and kind. They were very helpful and knowledgable with recommendations on surround area activities.

I will absolutely stay here again and I cannot wait for my next visit!
