North Bend State Park, managed by the WV Division of Natural Resources, contains two distinct campgrounds, and knowing which one you want before arriving matters. Cokeley sits on the eastern side of the park near Harrisville, while River Run Campground — North Bend State Park occupies a separate area without hookups. Reviewers consistently flag navigation as a real concern: GPS can route campers up rough gravel roads, so calling the park office directly at 304-643-2931 before arrival is the recommended approach. Come in via Harrisville.
Sites at Cokeley are large and generally open, with limited shade. Most have electric and water hookups, and the dump station is well-positioned for rigs of any configuration, with a maximum RV length of 45 feet. Shade varies by site, so it's worth requesting a spot with evening cover when checking in. Cell service can be inconsistent, and while WiFi is available on-site, at least one camper found the connection unreliable on a mobile device. The 72-mile North Bend Rail Trail, built on an abandoned railway with multiple tunnels, runs through the area and draws cyclists and hikers in significant numbers.
The facilities are dated but functional. Robyn S. sums them up accurately: "Nothing fancy, but it was clean." Staff have been noted across multiple reviews for being accommodating and knowledgeable about local trails. Campers wanting a different setup can explore campgrounds near North Bend State Park for additional options in the region.
