Camping On The Battenkill

Our first time in Vermont and we picked an awesome campground. This place has a great layout with lots of great sites to choose from.

There are several sites right on the river!

Clean bath houses. A big playground for kids. Even free WiFi if that is desired.

We will definitely be back!

Great stay. Owners were awesome

Check in people were super nice and welcoming! Firewood was 3 large bundles for $20, or 4 for $20 in the fall. It’s a huge campground. Site 16 had a path to the river and was slightly tucked away. Sites 13 and 14 were cool spots too, I’d imagine in the summer you may have less privacy because it’s near the swimming area. Sites aren’t on top of each other but you can see your neighbors. Very dog friendly campground with a small off leash fenced in area at the entrance. Mostly an RV park with some tent camping. There’s also showers and laundry if you need that. Bathrooms were well lit and clean.

Quiet private campground along the battenkill river. Pretty clean bathrooms and showers but not the best. They have tent sites to full hook up sites. We were at site 33 which was nice and large but kinda on top of neighbors. The tent sites are nice and private near the river. They have laundry and a fenced in dog area that was much appreciated! Almost everyone camping had a dog or 2. We enjoyed this place but not a lot to do right off the campground in terms of hiking and biking trails

Shelly-Ann and Alan are great hosts and keep a very tidy campground. It just keeps getting better each time we come back.

Nice sized camp sites, river is beautiful, gated access for security, VERY clean bathrooms!

Large campground in Arlington VT. Sites are in pretty wooded area and quite big, ground is sandy and all have E/W, picnic table and fire ring. Near several attractions and there is nearby gift shop with Norman Rockwell exhibit. Very nice campground but some noise during the day from mechanical equipment and dogs. Has nice bathouse and dishwashing area.

I am motorcycle tent camping and found this place due to recommendations on dyrt. It lived up to all expectations. Friendly staff (Super helpful), Clean campground with an awesome old school vibe. Kids riding around on bikes, no one too loud, quiet times observed, everyone was super nice. Extra pts for this place on the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. One does not expect much but these were newer, very bright and super clean.

Wifi is not free. 2.95/day with a 5M download limit.

This place was really nice, river site was 5 ft from the camper. The owners are very friendly. I would 100 percent stay here again.

I wish I could pick up this campground and take it with us. We had Site 01, a very spacious riverside site with water and electric. There were sites in either side of us, but far enough away to feel private. Across from our site is a large open field with a volleyball net and playground. They even have a fenced in dog area where dogs can go off leash. The owners were extremely helpful and wonderful people. Will definitely be back!

My family and I have been camping here for 40 years. 4 of my 5 children learned to ride their bikes on the circle that surrounds the playground. The owners are great people and the prices are very reasonable. Just can’t say enough about this place.

We had a water/electric site which I would 100% recommend. They were spacious and private. There is a swim area on the river that the kids loved. Bring a tube because it’s fun to ride down the river to the swim area. We will for sure be back!

Small, mostly wooded, quiet campground. Facilities were spotless. The owners are so nice and welcoming. Great river for tubing or hanging out in the swimming hole.

We there last month tent camping. Headed back with the camper next week!

Friends and I camp here every June, and we love being close to the river. We sleep in tents so the sound of the river put  you to sleep at night. Excellent campground for cooking delicious meals over the fir and sitting around the fire later. We also tube down the river. Very clean restrooms and nice staff.

All kinds of sites

I stayed right on the river in site 14 with a small popup. The river is beautiful and the site was huge. We did some fishing and swimming. I get the feeling the other end of the campground with the RVs is not as nice and can be loud, but you can avoid it by staying on the tent side.

The river is nice.. The "playground" is dangerous and very dated. People get drunk and drive like maniacs through the campground at night. Tubing is fun...

We were at site 17, and it was a massive site. Lots of room would be great for a large family or group. The beach on the river is beautiful and clean! Easy swimming for all. Wish there was more privacy, the site had little tree cover between sites, (at our site). Overall great spot, well maintained, clean, with a nice beach. Close to things to do on and off river.

Spring camping in southern VT. Trees had not fully leafed out yet when we visited, but I would think this would be a well shaded campground. We had our small camper on a tent site to be near the river. Some sites were right on the river, many larger RVs were closer to an open play area/field. There were hookups and dump station. Dog friendly. Fishing and "swimming" or tubing in season I should think.
