Welcome to Dreher Island State Park Campground, a fantastic spot near Prosperity, SC, right in the heart of South Carolina. This place is a camper's paradise, offering year-round camping with stunning views of Lake Murray, one of the state's largest and most pristine natural waterparks.

The campground is set on an island, so nearly every site boasts either direct lake access or a beautiful lake view. Whether you're pitching a tent or parking an RV, you'll find the sites spacious and well-maintained. Some of the best tent sites are T-4 through T-7 and T-11 through T-14, which offer fantastic, unobstructed views of the lake.

Amenities here are top-notch. You’ve got electric and water hookups, showers, toilets, and even a sanitary dump station. If you’re into fishing, boating, or any kind of water sports, you’re in luck. The park has a marina with boat rentals, a tackle loaner program, and plenty of shoreline for fishing. Just remember to bring your SC state fishing license.

For those who prefer to stay on land, there are hiking and biking trails, picnic shelters, and playgrounds for the kids. The park store offers essentials like snacks, firewood, and bait, but for more substantial groceries, a quick 15-minute drive to Chapin will have you covered.

Visitors rave about the friendly rangers and the well-kept grounds. The sunrise and sunset views are absolutely breathtaking, and the lake is perfect for swimming, paddle-boarding, and kayaking. If you’re planning a trip, make sure to book your boat rentals in advance and bring plenty of stakes for your tent – the winds can get pretty strong.

So pack your gear and head over to Dreher Island State Park Campground for a memorable camping experience. Happy camping!
