Visitors rave about the beautiful surroundings, with plenty of trees providing some much-needed shade and a barrier against the wind. The area is great for water sports, with many campers bringing their boats to take advantage of Glendo Lake. One happy camper noted, “This is a great spot to bring your boat and a group. We had a ton of fun on the water.”

If you’re into hiking or biking, you’ll find some excellent trails nearby. As one reviewer put it, “Just walking around the campground was beautiful,” highlighting the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Description

State Park

Two Moon is Glendo’s oldest campground, and can be accessed from I-25 by making your way through town to Glendo Park Road, and following Glendo Park road for about 4 miles, until you see the signs for Two Moon Campground. There are three entrances that will take you into the campground. It is situated within a pine forest, on a bluff which overlooks the lake. While there is no direct water access from Two Moon Campground, the Marina Boat ramp is a short 3/4 mile jaunt away and there is a small, but popular day use beach near the Marina, which can be accessed through Shelter Point Campground. Two Moon does have a trailhead, which gives hikers and bikers access to a large section of our non-motorized trail system, including a fairly easy-going trail which encircles the campground, and provides some beautiful views of the reservoir and dam. Two Moon also has three yurts, which are available for reservation year-round. Please check out our page on the yurts here for more information. Because of its age, much of Two Moon is built to accommodate smaller camping units (27 feet or less) and tents. We encourage visitors with larger RVs and fifth wheels to use the campground’s electrical sites and/or most of the campsites along the side of the campground closest to Glendo Park Road; the access road to the campsites farther back is narrow and winding, and most of those sites are too small to accommodate such camping units. Because Two Moon has such extensive amenities, and is relatively close to the park entrance, it is our most popular campground during the Spring, Fall, and Winter, though it recently has been an immensely popular summer destination as well.

In the pines

Spent two nights here. Some of the camp spots had electric, but the ones that were in where the trees were were all dry camping. Lots of great hiking trails though. High above the lake so no lake access here but boat ramp was maybe a mile down the road. Paid $94 for two nights which was for out of state visitor included electric and car permit. Had a fun looking playground for the kiddos.

Two Moons Campground at Glendo

much quieter than some of the water access campgrounds-we enjoyed the views and the trees are a barrier to the wind and sun.  Two Moons is our favorite at Glendo!

Come for the water!

This is a great spot to bring your boat and a group. We had a ton of fun on the water. As far as camping there is not much cover so wind and weather can be an issue. Bring a tent to sit under for shade.

Worth a trip

Easily my favorite place to be during summer. My family, friends and I have been camping at Glendo for 20+ years. It’s full of great places to explore. Great place to waterski, tube, cliff jump, and any other water sport. Glendo has some amazing beaches and huge trees. Would 10/10 recommend, love this place!

Beautiful views and great hiking and mountain biking trails

We had a nice pull through site away from the water.  Just walking around the campground was beautiful.  We hiked all over the area and rode our mountain bikes.  It's a very family friendly campground, but with enough privacy to really enjoy your own space.  There is quite a bit of boat noise if you are near the water, but it quiets down at sunset.  We didn't see a lot of wildlife, but that was fine.

Lovely sandy beach camping!

Sandy Beach campground is great. We rented a jetski from the marina and rode it around all day. There are mountain biking trails around and awesome sunsets! Great for kids and dogs!

Neat spot

On a road trip we stayed the night at one of the campgrounds within the park. The lake is beautiful. Navigating the campgrounds as a newcomer was a tad difficult as there are numerous and the entrance booth was closed by the time we arrived. We’d certainly try it again should we make it back to Wyoming.

Beautiful Views

We ended up staying even though we were in the wrong location. The gal at the check in was amazing...she warned us of the snake and hawk that have been spotted around. She was super helpful. Just know the camp group has a lot of dust and dirt and not much shade but you trade that for the reservoir and the views. It is a bit difficult to get too and expect some gravel, but the drive is amazing no matter what direction you come in on.

Lovely cliffs along the water

We didn’t have a boat, as we were just staying the night while traveling along the interstate, and most activities are on the lake. We did do a few very short hikes, but there are many more miles of trails along the cliffs, enough to keep you busy for days. The stargazing here was exceptional. There are a few different camp sites here with varying shade, views, etc. Fairly crowded but nice.
