What to do
Hiking trails with varied difficulty: Liberty Lake Regional Park features hiking trails suitable for different skill levels. "The road in is a little narrow, but once in, it's a great little campground... Several hiking trails, including an equestrian trail, waterfall, fishing and lots of wildlife. There were deer in the campground every day, we saw moose, owls, pilated woodpecker, and hawks," explains Joel R. from Liberty Lake Regional Park.
Lakeside recreation: Clear Lake Recreation Area provides multiple water-based activities at affordable rates. "This place had everything i could possibly want for an affordable price. Boat, kayak and other equipment rentals, restaurant, bathrooms, changing rooms, showers, fishing dock, swimming area, shaded lawns and picnic tables. Only $15 for a dry tent space with shade and view of the lake!" shares Michelle R. from Clear Lake Recreation Area.
Wildlife viewing opportunities: Camp Coeur D'Alene offers opportunities to spot local wildlife during your glamping stay. "They are redoing the pool, and the bathrooms are very clean. Very friendly staff. Hiked the trail on the backside of the campground, which followed along a stream. There's nearby wildlife, including a resident moose. We didn't get to see her but enjoyed looking," notes Julie M.
What campers like
Spacious sites with full hookups: Many glamping sites provide comfortable spacing between accommodations. "It was a very great experience camping here the spots are very spacious and fairly quiet and clean. I enjoyed staying here will definitely be coming back to stay again," comments Garrett Alexander F.
Proximity to urban amenities: Bowl and Pitcher Campground at Riverside State Park offers glamping options with convenient access to city services. "It is very close to the city, so you can eat out if you don't want to cook. Lots of hiking trails along the Spokane River," mentions Joel R.
Natural surroundings despite urban proximity: Despite being near Greenacres, glamping sites maintain a natural setting. "The campground is close to the water and lots of picnic areas. The RV spots are pretty close, but is surrounded by nature and trails," explains Theresa G.
What you should know
Off-season considerations: Some glamping sites near Greenacres operate seasonally. "Liberty Lake Regional Park... season: May 17 to Sept 15," according to campground data, limiting glamping opportunities in winter months outside major parks like Riverside State Park.
Reservation requirements: Wolf Lodge Campground requires advance booking during peak season. "I called last minute as we were driving through and was offered a tent site next to 'the creek'—turns out the creek is the ditch between the highway and campsite," shares Ashlee B., highlighting potential issues with last-minute bookings.
Road access limitations: Some glamping locations have restricted access routes. "The road in was kinda sketchy if you are pulling a large RV. It is surrounded by a heavily wooded area that is very beautiful and well kept up," notes Angel A. about accessing certain sites.
Variable site quality: "Nice cozy camp site. Can be a bit crowded but is nice here. Cell service is solid att and Verizon. Nice hiking and cycling trails. Lake looks pretty but didn't go in. Was very hot here in July with no wind. Shower is ok not great," reports Adam B., indicating varying comfort levels at different glamping sites.
Tips for camping with families
Quiet vs. social sites: Camp Coeur D'Alene provides family-friendly glamping environments. "This campground was super cozy and safe. They had firewood for sale, a pool, and clean showers and bathrooms. We had a very comfortable stay and were able to connect to the wifi at our tent site," says Sienna V.
Water recreation options: "Great place to explore. Lots of hiking trails. Nice beach area for swimming," mentions Kris S., highlighting swimming opportunities for children during summer glamping trips.
Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some glamping locations. "This campground is next to the interstate... It's loud, and bright with lights from the highway," warns Ashlee B., suggesting families with light sleepers choose more secluded sites.
Amenity access: "Gilmore Campground was clean and well-managed and we found the camp hosts super friendly and helpful. The campground has vault toilets and a few flush toilets as well as private showers with hot water. Campsites were well spaced from one another. The campground has a big green for frisbee, horseshoes, etc.," shares Sarah from Gilmore Campground.
Tips from RVers
Leveling challenges: "Nice cozy camp site... Bring your blocks," advises Adam B., indicating that even established glamping sites may require leveling equipment for RV comfort.
Hookup variations: RV glamping sites offer various connection options. "We spent 3 weeks at Liberty Lake Regional Park while visiting our son and grandkids in Spokane... Most of the sites are fairly level. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 weeks, and both were level... Picnic table, water and electric. The dump station is quite a drive, back out, up the hill," explains Joel R.
Seasonal pricing: "Only reason I am not giving this five stars that's because it runs between 35 to 75 a night to stay there ranging from camping to full RV hookup," notes Steve M. about Liberty Lake Regional Park, highlighting the cost variation for different glamping options near Greenacres.
