Directions

As a reminder for your upcoming trip to Bigfoot Campout on Mirror Lake, here are the directions to the campground, as well as some other valuable information! Street Address: 675 Mirror Lake Rd, Sagle, ID GPS Coordinates: 48°10'11.0"N, 116°30'02.1"W Driving Directions: PLEASE USE THESE EVEN IF YOU ARE USING GPS From Coeur d'Alene... Take 95 NORTH for 41 miles. At Sagle Road, turn RIGHT. After 1.5 miles, take Talache Road to the RIGHT where it forks off of Sagle Road. Stay on Talache Road past Shepherd Lake -- which will be on your right -- for about 3 miles until you see a big white arrow sign pointing left to Mirror Lake. This is where Mirror Lake Road begins. Drive down Mirror Lake Road and when you are about 200 feet from the dock & boat ramp on the lake, you will see a "Y" in the road. This "Y" is easy to miss so be alert! (Look for a tree with 2 yellow reflectors on it--that's where the "Y" is.) You'll need to go LEFT here and continue to follow Mirror Lake Rd around the north side of the lake for another 1/10th of a mile. (Disregard the "Private Property / No Trespassing" signs.) You'll soon see a brown & yellow Bigfoot Campout sign at the start of a gravel driveway called Recreation Loop. Go LEFT here, drive up the small hill, and you will arrive at the campground! From Sandpoint... Take 95 SOUTH for 6 miles. At Sagle Road, turn LEFT. If you are staying in Sites B, C, D, E or F, go LEFT here, drive up the small hill, and you will arrive at the campground! Site B is to the right upon entering the campground and Sites C, D, E and F are to the left upon entering the campground. If you are staying in Site A, do NOT go up the driveway, but instead keep going straight just a little further until you see another sign that says "Fishing Dock -->". Go RIGHT here and you'll see Campsite A on the right just 100 feet up the road. (Campsite A campers: it's recommended that you park behind the cabin if your vehicle is small or along the road shoulder, just past the cabin, if your vehicle is long.) Please take CAREFUL note of which campsite you booked in your reservation details and DO NOT switch campsites. Stay in the campsite that you selected during your booking. Never assume that because another campsite is vacant that it is not booked. Many campers arrive late at night and if their site is taken by another camping party, it can cause great amounts of confusion and inconvenience to both them and the camping party set-up at that site. Hammock Use: The hammock to the left of the dock (when facing the lake) is for public use, while the other hammocks are exclusively for Campsite A campers. Trash: Please pack out ALL trash so that we can keep wildlife, ants, flies and bees from visiting our campground. Complimentary trash bags for packing out trash are available in the small grey box next to the Port-a-Potty. Feel free to grab a bag or two upon checking in. (Note: we do have a "last resort use only" trash bin that has a lock on it. If you really need to use it due to an extenuating circumstance, just text me and I'll send you the code to open it.) Firewood: Bundles of firewood should be purchased at the Conoco station in Sagle before you arrive at the campground. There is an abundant amount of deadfall to scavenge in the forest surrounding the campground if you don't wish to pay for a bundle. If you choose the latter option, it is advisable to bring an axe or hatchet to cut the deadfall into smaller pieces. Campfire Restrictions: To determine if there are any campfire restrictions during the dates of your stay, visit this site prior to your arrival: https://www.idl.idaho.gov/fire-management/fire-restrictions-finder/ If the North Zone is in "green", there are no restrictions. Extras: Extension cords, electric splitters, RV leveling blocks, horseshoes, corn hole, sleeping pads, and some basic tools are all available for use for a nominal $0.99 fee in our Amenities Shed, near the Port-a-Potty. (Please be sure to return them after use!) If you order any of these items, please message me for the lock code to the Amenities Shed. Other Important Information: Water fill-up station, RV dump station and dumpster access can be accessed to the north at the Bonner County Fairgrounds. The best swimming in the area is Talache Beach (a.k.a. Talache Landing), which is a short 4 mile drive past Mirror Lake to Lake Pend Oreille. The water there is crystal clear and the views are absolutely stunning. You can also swim in Mirror Lake itself by entering the lake at the nearby public boat ramp and paying a small fee (about $3), or for free if you launch a kayak/canoe/boat from the on-site fishing dock to get away from the shoreline, where lily pads are abundant. Please review our camp rules in the listing, especially the ones about noise, trash, fires and pets. The most important rule, however, is to leave the campsite as good (or better!) than you found it. Finally, I know that sometimes even the greatest camping trip can be diminished if just one thing goes awry. If something like that happens, would you please give me the opportunity to fix the issue before you consider leaving a negative review? I am always available by phone, text or email if you have a question, concern, suggestion or feedback. I'll do anything within my capabilities to make your stay a 10-out-of-10! Thank you again and enjoy your stay on the lake!

Just amazing! Hidden gem of the Idaho Panhandle

Just. Book. You won't regret it.  The campground is just far enough away to feel secluded but not too far that it's hard to get to.  The views of Mirror Lake are just phenomenal.  Clean campground with all the amenities.  The dock is fantastic and the fishing is top notch.  Electric hookups if you are a "glamper".  Campsite A is the best but all sites are great.
