Nice, quiet, small camp ground, all sites are on the Colorado river. We chose site #13, it had shade and plenty of privacy. All sites have a great view of the river & canyon although you can't access the river from the sites (thick growth) BUT... the campground has a wonderful little beach area with river access near the entrance (Shown in last picture)
I loved this campground. I actually stayed at the lower big bend camp. Its right next to the upper big bend camp. I payed $20 a night for 5 nights. Bargain! I have a small teardrop trailer and it was perfect. No shore power or water hook ups but who needs that anyway lol. Zero cell service for Tmobil but what ever. Very rustic but it does have an out house style restroom. Camp was right along side the mighty Colorado river. I did not swim in the river but some other people were. Would camp here again. Was about 15 mins from downtown Moab. Plenty of hiking trails around.
Amazing site for groups right along the Colorado river. The views were incredible. Happen to be there on the full moon and watching the moonrise over the canyon and set in the morning was quite magical!
The campsite was perfect and easy for us! We pulled in and paid $20 for an open tent site, and pitched our tent right along the Colorado river. I’d recommend buying firewood in Moab.
We found a secluded spot with a great view along the river.
It was pretty simple to get to this location and to pay. It is first come fist serve, however, even in the middle of the afternoon they still had sites available. Cash or check in the self serve envelopes. Decent lighting around rest rooms. Had campfire areas and easy access to the river. It's about 7-8 miles off the main drive in Moab and about 15-20 minutes from the National Parks. There are Mountain biking trails close by as well.
Stayed in one of the back sites at this campground. Offered us a bit more seclusion. Small parking spaces at site but worth walking thru the brush to the actual clearings.
Perfect spot to stay outside of Moab! Take a dip in the Colorado River and boulder across the street at the bouldering area. Only $10 and close to town :)
It is very hard to get a camping spot in Moab, as most are not reservable. Lucky for us, someone was leaving and we were able to pull into the spot they vacated. This camp ground is beautiful and definitely well kept.
Right on the Colorado, spectacular scenery, Arches national park nearby, what's not to love?

There are a ton of great camping spots in Moab. I love the small dispersed camping spots close to Canyonlands. But this is the best spot that is close and has WATER! Which is key in this hot region.
Convenient location to Moab and Arches National Park, this campground is a pristine spot to watch sunsets light up the tall rock faces over the Colorado River.
It's first come first serve, so if you want a spot along the river, best show up before 10AM. The tent pitches vary, so check them out before choosing.
Bathrooms, picnic tables, a fire pit, and the sound of the water!
