Camping is allowed on most trust lands throughout the state for up to 15 consecutive days. Certain areas are subject to shorter 7 day limits and some areas are closed to camping.

Any use longer than 15 days requires that you obtain a right of entry permit.  Protect your privilege to camp on trust lands by observing the following:

Limit camping to existing campsites.
Campsites and personal items may not be left unattended for more than 72 hours.
No obstruction or prevention of access for other users is allowed.
Select a campsite on a durable surface or non-vegetated area at least 100 feet from water sources.
Do not camp in wet areas or fragile meadows.
Observe all fire restrictions and regulations.  If you must build a fire, use an existing fire ring, have a means to extinguish the fire nearby, and use only clean cord-type firewood or charcoal.  No burning of pallets or construction debris is allowed.  LEAVE CAMPFIRES DEAD OUT.
Firewood may be removed from trust lands through permit only.  Campfire wood collection of dead and down wood is allowed.
Fireworks are not allowed on any trust lands.
No garbage collection is provided:  PACK-IT-IN, PACK-IT-OUT.
Use stationary toilet facilities where available or your own portable toilet whenever possible. When a toilet is not available, bury solid human waste at least 8 inches deep and at least 200 feet from a campsite or water source.

The Best Moab Camping | Utah Campgrounds

This is a review for dispersed camping at Fallen Peace Officer Trail, in the Klondike bluffs near this location. 

You can barely hear the highway, and the second morning there was a family cooking breakfast up on the bluff. Cool place to explore!

First night we slept in a tent because it was windy, second night we slept under the stars. only had a few noisy neighbors come in the middle of the night. It’s free, fire pits have been set up by past campers. Typically it’s larger family camps with Rvs and off roaming toys, but if it’s not a holiday weekend there will be room for those without off-roading vehicles. 

No reception, no bathrooms, but a great fallback incase your original plans doesn’t work out. Good luck!

Fallen Peace Officer Trail -  nearby

This is a small area off hwy 191 noted as the Fallen Peace Officer Trail system trailhead. This is Utah State Lands. Free dispersed but close to Hwy noise. Only about 4 big areas in the posted camping area.  No water, trash, tables.  Cell signal good.  Best use is OHV folks. 14 day camping limit.

We drove thru a few of the other nearby dispersed camping and they were full.  Lots of room in here, beside highway but hidden in and lots of room.  We stayed for 3 days and did both Arches and Canyonlands.  We have 
a 42' 5th wheel, lots of options for us.  There is also a camp host here.

So easy and great access

Right off the highway on the way into Moab. Very easy to pull off and spend the night. A little chewed up from tires and wet in spots. A couple of rough spots that you need a vehicle with ground clearance to go to the spots further in. Quite a bit of highway noise, but halfway decent cell service. 

Easy, but nothing special

Easier access to sites than the South Klondike Rd if you’re pulling with low clearance vehicle. Camp fire rings are present. We stayed at the first site with a camp ring, only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the trash people leave behind- plenty of glass bottles and broken glass present. We picked some of it up so hopefully it won’t be bad for the next people! It is next to a busy road, but not too loud that we couldn’t sleep. I wasn’t worried about getting stuck despite impending rain. I would stay here again!

Easier Access to Sites

Ok, car camping.  Road is good, a few potholes, otherwise great.  9/7th and nobody is here.  Great space. 

Nobody here and easy drive in!

Less than a half mile to park and sleep. The atv/dirt bike guys were quite after dark. It is close to the road so there is some occasional road noise. Less than a half hour from Arches
