A large fishing pond anchors the activity side of things, alongside a heated swimming pool, mini golf, jump pillow, multiple playgrounds, a game room, and a dog park with agility equipment. On weekends, live music and events like bingo, hayrides, and cornhole tournaments run regularly. October is especially active, with Halloween-themed programming every weekend that fills reservations quickly and requires payment in full at booking.
The campground is forested, and many sites have good tree cover and shade. Site density is worth knowing before you book. Mary B. notes that "RV pads are right next to each other with no trees in between," which reflects the more open sections. A short hiking trail winds through the surrounding woods and works well for dog walks. A significant portion of sites are occupied by long-term seasonal campers, so the atmosphere leans more toward a community campground than a remote retreat.
RVs up to 50 feet can be accommodated with full hookups including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer. The FR-row sites handle big rigs most easily since some internal roads are narrow with two-way traffic and tree clearance can be tight. Water hookups on transient sites are recessed in ground-level pits to prevent freezing, so connecting a water filter may not be possible depending on your setup. WiFi reaches the area near the office but not reliably to sites in the back of the property. Cell coverage has drawn mixed feedback in reviews.
The campground is well-positioned for day trips, with Baltimore and Frederick both within reasonable driving distance. Finksburg Forest is one option for campers who want something quieter in the same general region. Reservations are recommended, especially for fall weekends.
