Welcome To Coos Canyon Campground! We are a small, family run campground nestled in the mountains of Byron, Maine. We have sites for tents and RVs, and our cabins have a rustic charm, that anyone who has camped in New England, gets nostalgic for. No matter the season we hope you and your family will fall in love with our laidback neck of the woods.
Great sight right on a beautiful little river with friendly neighbors
Great place to stay with ATV trails access right from your campsite. With the river right close by you can pan for gold.
This campground has ATV trail access. There was no cell service but wifi was available at the office.
Very pretty location. If you eat, breath and live off atvs, this is the place for you. They were continuously driving around and past the campsite all day, making it a bit hard to relax when you are a non atv owner.
Otherwise its a great location, right next to the canyon you can swim in. Wasn't close enough to hear the stream at night in the wilderness sites. Dog friendly and everyone seemed to obey the rules. Very clean bathrooms that were conveniently located.
We stayed late July for 3 nights during the week. Our site was right next to the river and was fantastic. Ellis pond and Webb lake were close and great to take to canoe out. Worth the trip up to rangeley roughly 40 miles from the camp. Overall great stay.
I highly recommend checking out the Coos Canyon Campground. The lot spaces were decently sized, and ours had water and electricity. They have a cute little general store that you can get some supplies in, along with clean showers and restrooms. You can bring in your own wood (which I recommend) or you can buy some from the store (which was a little pricey). We spent two nights there and could have spent an entire week. The canyon itself had tons to explore including rock climbing, cliff jumping, swimming, fishing, a cute little sandy beach for the littles to play on, and so much more. We brought our bikes and had fun riding around the campground. This being our first time there, I would definitely go back!
Very friendly place with good sized sites. Located right at coos canyon. A winding rocky river gorge. Some swimming holes and spots to jump from up on the ledges. Angel falls is about a ten minute drive from here and well worth the trip. Plenty of hiking trails including tumble down mountain. And no shortage of places to fish. You can also rent some gear to go gold panning along the river.
