Great Place!!

This little park is a nice, cozy place to stay. Clean with well spaced lots. The staff are very friendly. Great views. Will be returning.

Nice little park

Nice and pretty quiet park despite it being so close to town and freeways.

Great campground

Personally love this campground, I can understand that it wouldn’t be as enjoyable if you are closer to the road but if you can get a spot in the middle or back it’s wonderful. Nice lake and most spots have a LONG driveway. Covered by trees and squirrels!

Beautiful!!!

Nice campground with beautiful view of the lake. Quiet neighbors. The only thing is that it’s close to a major road so there is a lot of traffic noise. It’s also close enough to SpaceX to hear rocket testing. I thought we were getting nuked until I did some research and found out what the noise was!

One of our favorites!

Really enjoy this COE campground. Amenities aren’t the best but the views can be amazing.

Down side. Sites are very close to one another.

Up side. With an access pass we paid $13 for the night.

Can’t beat it.

Conveniently located yet far away

This campground is right on the shores of Lake Waco and we had a site with a view of the water.  Lot's of space between sites and covered picnic area.  The best part was its proximity to the city of Waco. We were able to go into town to pick up provisions, do a little sightseeing, and then escape to the remoteness of the lake.  Would definitely return to this one!

Pretty Nice

This recreation.gov campground was adequate for our needs. Most sites are shady, the outdoor tables we're sturdy, and there were fire pits and a separate cooking grill on a raised post. They parking pass we're decent asphalt. It is located on Lake Waco. There was some road noise from the highway. The toilet/shower house left a little to be desired. It wasn't as clean as it could have been. The women's showers had 2 stalls, one handicapped. The handicapped shower did not work. The other shower had a very difficult shower head to control the volume and direction of the spray. It was very cold the first morning and the shower building is not heated and had open screening at the top so showering was very eye opening! But the trees were beautiful with quite a few pecan trees. We would probably camp there again.

Beautiful View

This campground is the closest, of the lake campgrounds, to Waco. After a fun day at Magnolia Farms and DT Waco we found this campground on, the Dyrt, of course. We stopped at Walmart on the way and arrived just in time to jump in the lake. It was refreshing after a long hot day and we got to watch the sunset as we floated in the water. You have to reserve a spot on recreation.gov if you arrive after 6 PM. The reticent off duty camp host notified me that I couldn’t stay unless I made the reservation online. If you are in an RV there are a lot of lake view sights w great shade and some w canopies over the tables. We stayed at a “tent” ($16) site in our minivan. I’m still not sure where the water is for the tent ⛺️ people because I snuck over to one of the open RV sites to get water. There is a decent bathroom with toilet and shower which can’t be beat for $16.

Nice park

Pretty nice park. The sites were pretty far away from the water, but were close to the restrooms and playground area. Good spot for fishing, but not really for swimming. Burn Ban was in effect and it seemed as if we weren’t trusted to obey the laws... The gate attendant kept close watch on us even though we kept our fire in the BBQ pit that was on site. At one point a Waco PD officer stopped by to check on us. I let him know that I was also LEO and had no intentions of breaking any laws. We weren’t bothered after that. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at this park.

Convenient and simple.

This is a little park on a corner of lake Waco next to the Twin Bridges. This park has everything you need, but nothing more. If you are looking at doing the whole Waco things and not spending to much time at your campsite, here is the place to do it. It is only 12 to 24 dollars a night and you can reserve your site online beforehand.

The park has all major amenities with clean bathrooms and showers. There is a boat ramp and a dock for fishing but don't expect much. Be aware about half the park has trees, the other side doesn't. So if your looking for shade make sure you view the sites online to see what you are getting. The park is dog friendly and the sites aren't too close together which makes for a nice stay.

If you are looking to swim, Twin Bridges park across the lake has a man-made beach and a huge playscape for kids. Also Waco is home to Magnolia so take a 15 minute drive into town and check it out.

It is a great place i terms of convenience. You are right in the middle of all of Waco's attractions and there is an HEB and Walmart near. Also the best pizza in the world is a local joint called Papa Rollo's which is located in Hewitt about 10 minutes away. This park is a great place to call home for a few nights!
