 Brushy Creek Campground is situated along the banks of Lake O' the Pines in the Ark-La-Tex portion of the Pineywoods of east Texas near the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. ## Recreation

 Boating, fishing, water sports, and wildlife viewing are all popular pastimes at the campground. Hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and small game are available on nearby public lands. Lake O' the Pines fishing includes largemouth, spotted, and white bass along with crappie, catfish, and sunfish. In addition to boat fishing there are areas for bank fishing along the shore and below the dam along Big Cypress Bayou. Birdwatchers are also encouraged to bring their binoculars as numerous resident and migratory bird species inhabit the area. Bald eagle sightings are a common occurrence in fall and winter and they are occasionally sighted in spring and summer.
## Natural Features

 Lake O' the Pines includes about 18,700 acres of water and 9,000 acres of land, encompassing an area so large it spans five counties. The lake was created by the construction of the Ferrell's Bridge Dam on the Big Cypress Bayou. The reservoir was originally created as part of the overall plan for flood control in the Red River Basin below Denison Dam in Oklahoma, and has now become a recreational oasis for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Best Camping Near Jefferson, Texas

Clean campsites, easy water access. Great restroom facilities available. Swim area is also accessible. There’s some volleyball pits and walking trails. 

Great summer fun

We had so much fun! There is a lot of fishing. The camp grounds were very well kept, and the bathrooms and showers were very clean as odor free. It was extremely packed and every camp site was booked, but where we were it still felt like we had our own little spot. The only complaint I have, if you want to call it a complaint, is the RV sites are too close to the tent sites. There was a lot of big families and lots of kids running around with the RVs. We will be going there again!

Will go back again

We have camped here for over 45 years. Always camped in a tent until this year. Park has been closed to repair storm damage. It is back better than ever. No sewer connection but there is a dump station. Most sites have a lake view and there are sites to hold about any size rig.

Lots to do with fishing or visiting nearby historic Jefferson. Very popular so reservations are recommended.


Old Favorite

This COE campground is part of Lake O' The Pines right outside the historic town of Jefferson, TX. Our site had 180 degree views of the beautiful lake and sat amongst tall pines. The sites are a nice distance from the others and fairly level. Electric and water hookups were on site and a dump station was nearby within the park.  Many had their fishing boats and a nice swimming area was just a few yards away. We enjoyed the Jefferson Museum and train ride while we were nearby.  The only deduction was due to an abundance of ants that invaded our RV and were difficult to resolve. Though insects are an obvious hazard of camping, we'd never had that issue before. Overall, it's a gorgeous place to spend time!

Gorgeous Views!

Big rv spots.  Definitely not on top of each other. Very clean park.  Rv spots right along the water. You can put in a kayak or canoe from these spots.   Nice and quiet!  🥰

Great campground 

This park has lots of beautiful pine trees, goes right along with the name. The lake front spots are beautiful, and a lot of the sites further back still have great views of the lake.

Although this isn’t the cleanest water, it’s a fun time for water craft, fishing and relaxing. This lake is situated in east Texas and is a corp of engineers lake. Every site is a concrete pad with a picnic table and fire ring. Hooks up are water and electricity only, no sewer. Phone service is spotty. 
Campgrounds are kept clean. Bathhouses are decent. Bring deep woods off to keep the mosquitos at bay! 

Always a hit!

Had a fun weekend here with our two kids. Lots of room around this campsite for the kids to ride bikes and play without being in another site. This site is very close to bathrooms and dumpster. The boat ramp dock is just a short walk away. We will definitely stay again.

Great view and large area for kids to play.

The site we had was very peaceful Great Lake view and a small private beach. The shower didn’t have warm water when I used it early morning.
