Very nice, clean campground. We stayed in C2 we could hear the ocean and waves all through the night it was great! Easy access to the ocean.

Cape Lookout is a gem of the Oregon State Park system. 

Camp near the beach or in the forest. Camp with full hook ups or dry camp. 

Walk on the beach or hike a trail. 

Watch a sunset. Look for sand dollars. Have a campfire. 

I've had so many great camping trips here--alone and with friends. I'll keep coming back every year, every season.

I believed I had my lighting situation under control, not bright and off at an appropriate time, but when I woke up the next morning, my neighbor said I had offended the stars with my toxic and harsh LEDs. Can’t win em all 🤷‍♂️

We have visited this campground twice over the years, the most recent as part of roadtrip back from Yosemite.  The quality of the experience really has to do with what loop you camp in.  If you look at the website for the park there is a notice that they are getting ready to do construction and it appears many of the issues will be fixed.

Right now, I'd strongly recommend camping in the upper part of the "A", "B" or "C" loops.  The lower parts of "A" and "B" are pretty exposed with just dune grass/bushes for protection.  The bathrooms in those loops are also in the best shape.  The "D" loop needs a lot of work.  The bathroom is very mildewed and just bearable.

I came here with a few friends and we really enjoyed it. The bathrooms were nice and clean as was the site itself. There's a good amount of privacy between the sites too which is really nice. It's quiet at night even when it's crowded and has easy access to the beach, even after the sun goes down.

The C loop is beautiful. Lots of amazing old stumps and logs to explore in and around sites. Lots of shade trees and a nice shower facility. The other loops are more or less parking pads on sea grass. Our site had a awesome corner with several massive old stumps our kids played in non stop. The trade off was our parking pad and the path to the bathroom/shower nearly touch each other. People were just about walking under our awning when they went by. The park is clean and very well kept. So well in fact that my 6 year old daughter was told she cannot use sidewalk chalk. There are some really nice junior ranger activities for the kids also.

Beautiful campground with a beautiful beach. The sunsets are amazing. Nice hiking trails available. Fun places nearby to explore.

Busy campground, lots of families and kids. Each campsite has foliage/trees for privacy. Well maintained. I would pick a site that isn’t next to the bathroom trail or you’ll have someone walking through your site every 5 minutes. Each site is Steps away from beach access. Awesome Tide pools in the morning.

most of the tent spots have a good amount of privacy, with many of them very close to the ocean — fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing. pretty clean showers. extremely short walk to the beautiful beach. would absolutely stay here again but probably in a tent site closer to the beach

Amazing location for a campground! Nothing beats sleeping within 200yards of the ocean. Excellent beach access from the campground with gorgeous views. The local bird actively around the campsite was also a plus. Clean bathrooms and showers. Staff routinely drive around to offer firewood for sale at each individual’s campsite. I was blown away and would stay again.

In August 2019 we rode from Seattle to Santa Barbara, staying most night in hiker/biker sites. We were quite impressed with Oregon State Park campground, many of them offering storage boxes with USB charging station and free showers for about 8$ per sites. This campground was probably the one we preferred, having many biker/hiker sites, each of them with their own tables and fire pits and enough privacy between each site.

You never know this time of year as far as the weather goes. Campground is nice. C Loop I s good with fairly private sites. D Loop is best privacy between sites. Facilities are clean.. Staff are all very friendly.

They brought firewood for sale directly to our camping spot. Weather was dry and no bugs!

Pulled in even though Campground FULL signage was up at several locations- hoping for overflow after a long day of travel. They had several sites available- YEAH! Met at site by host with firewood ($5 bundle). Hot free showers and clean bathrooms.

Right along the beach with hot shower, flush toilets. This one is my favorite campground Only if you can make a reservation way in advance. I saw the most beautiful sunset scene there. The walk along the beach or on the trails is simply gorgeous. There are quite nice bike trails as well. I am thinking of getting a bike too. Staff are friendly and helpful too.

We just spent 2 nights here in a tent. When we arrived our original site was very wet and muddy. The staff allowed us to find a better site from the few untaken. So that was very helpful of them. 

Periodically a staff person would drive through the campground with a stack of firewood in the cart to sell. That's convenient. 

The bathrooms though old were clean and had a a couple electrical outlets. The showers had lots of hot water but no electrical outlets..  you can just use the outlets in the adjoining bathrooms though.

There are several loops, we were in the back of D loop which is pretty well tree covered. But if you neeed sun exposure for solar etc the B loop is wide open and seperated from the ocean by 1 sand dune.

We went clamming in Netarts Bay which is only about a 10 minute drive away.

We have Verizon and had good cell service.

May weekend. Most spots full but nice spacing in most areas. Areas with hookups are somewhat more crowded. Easy access to beach.

I’ve become a big fan of the Oregon State Parks. This is a great one. As you can see from the attached videos, it is extraordinarily beautiful and at the time of the video we were the only ones in the entire park. I really enjoyed the privacy.

This campsite was awesome— steps from the beach and just a few mins drive from incredible hiking! You are able to buy firewood from the campsite for just $5 a bundle, and great tap water is available nearby every campsite. The bathrooms were clean and even had showers!

We loved our stay, though I must say not all campsites are created equal here. Many of the campsites are well spaced out from the others… ours was not! We were very very close to two of our neighbors and would’ve liked more space. When we come back, we will go with the campsites that were across the street from ours. :) Also- some of the campsites were quite muddy the further from the beach they were. We got lucky with a not-so-muddy one! It had been raining that week, so just a heads up if you plan your trip after a rain storm. The D60’s campsites were all pretty mud-free!

A favorite for the Oregon Coast. Reasonable driving distances from surf spots north and south. Clean and beautiful spot.

Beautiful spot on the coast with amazing beach access. It’s the kind of campground that allows you yo just spend hours sitting on the beach. If you are looking for other activities or ATV access I’d look at other spots in the coast.

Lovely park with very nice campgrounds. Sites are separated by natural plantings. We stayed in site C31 which was very nice. If I were to return I would pick C32 because of the interesting tree that anchors the space. C27 is also a very nice site.

I stayed here while renting a conversion van for the first time. I made the poor choice of coming to the Oregon Coast in the winter during a storm. And then I made the even worse choice of unknowingly selecting a campsite with no trees to block the wind, and then parking perpendicular to the wind, so my van swayed all night! Let's just say, I didn't get hardly any sleep! Haha! I moved in the morning to a camp site in the trees and it was fine.

The camp itself is great. Nice facilities. I took a fun walk on the beach in the pouring rain. Came back soaked but it was fun.

I LOVED this place! I was really impressed with the closeness to the beach and how secluded it was. Although that could be due to it being January. After being wind blown but having a blast on the beach it was great to walk back to our yurt and warm up. When we arrived there was already an air purifier and the heater running. It was super cozy in there. Both my husband and I slept like babies on the beds - don’t forget your own sleeping bags though of course.

I was impressed with the sweet smelling restrooms and hot (free) shower. Everyone was quiet and respectful and masks were required in the restrooms and facilities and such. One of the nicest yurts I’ve stayed at!

We tried a yurt with our dog and had a great time. I highly recommend this site. The beach is a 5 minute walk with plenty of space to play and stroll. Also check out the South Trail for a fun but sometimes muddy hike.

Perfect coastal getaway for star gazers! Close access to beach and nice showers/bathrooms! Plenty of sites for first come campers!

One of our favorite things about this large campground is that you can choose between secluded forest sites and sites in open areas right next to the beach.

Very nice. Reservable on RA, free hot showers, clean flush toilets, drinking water. Spots in the woods have nice privacy, spots in loop B are open and good for solar set ups. All spots close to the beach, I fell asleep to the sound of the surf. Lovely

Private spots with great access to surrounding area. Beach access walking distance from all the sites. I would have given the campsite five stars but roads are narrow and with long trailers or RV’s it is tight getting in.
