Last ones out

We were sad to find out that the campground was scheduled to close for the season the day after we arrived.

A spot for everyone

One of our favorite things about this large campground is that you can choose between secluded forest sites and sites in open areas right next to the beach.

Lovely beach access

This is a great state campground with lots of beach access. Just be aware of low spots in the campsites if rain is in the forecast.

Beautiful sunsets

Tidy, nice campground. Beautiful view of the lake with sounds of the ocean.

A long, slow drive to a remote site

A two hour plus drive on rough, curvy road from Galice. Six official campsites, but room for plenty more. The caretaker from the adjacent Rogue River Ranch said that it's packed in October during hunting season. The campground was tidy and the pit toilets were clean. The campsites are up a steep hill from there lovely Mule Creek - a great place for wading and swimming in the crisp cool waters. Watch out for poison oak.

Quiet and peaceful, with a great host

We've never been disappointed with a BLM campground, and Earl the camp host since 2015 makes sure everything is clean and welcoming. You need to make reservations in advance or use the courtesy phone to call reservation.gov and pay with a card. $5 for firewood bundles, no change.
