Delta Lake State Park Campground sits at the foothills of the Adirondack Park near Boonville, New York. The campground offers water-accessing sites where campers can enjoy direct lake views on a 44-acre reservoir formed by a dam in the early 1900s. Most camping sites at Delta Lake have recently been upgraded with electrical hookups, with many located beneath mature shade trees.
What to do
Kayaking on Delta Lake: Explore the expansive waterways at Delta Lake State Park Campground where guests can paddle the reservoir at their own pace. "Was here with a camper on a lake accessing site. Having the kayaks were great, there's so much to explore, and town is right down the road," notes Sierra K. in her review.
Mining for Herkimer diamonds: Visit Herkimer Diamond Mine KOA where guests can search for double-terminated quartz crystals. "The mines are so much fun. Some of the sites are crowded but each site has plenty of space. The whole park is well maintained," according to Kelly F., who spent three nights at the campground.
Tubing on West Canada Creek: Float down the gentle current that runs through the campground. "Tubing was the big hit with the kids. Sites were large. Very clean," reports Michelle M. about her experience at Herkimer Diamond Mine KOA.

Waterfront access: The premium sites at Kayuta Lake Campground provide direct water access for boats and fishing. "We spent 4 nights here in our 27 ft toy hauler with 2 dogs. Sites were roomy and many are seasonal. The lake linked to a river was great for kayaking and fishing," shares Paummi S.
Spacious camping areas: Delta Lake State Park offers generously sized sites with natural separation. "We go here at least twice a season if not more. Spacious, mostly flat sides. Complete shade and a lot of sites right on the water. Peaceful park with a large beach area," reports Marlene H.
Clean facilities: Despite being rustic in some areas, campgrounds maintain good standards. "Very nice quiet campground. Bathrooms are a little old but very clean. Had fun shooting archery targets," Jason D. noted about Kayuta Lake Campground, adding they also enjoyed the hayride offered during his October stay.

Weather considerations: The area experiences typical Adirondack foothills climate with warm days and cool evenings in summer. "It got really windy at night which was nice to keep the bugs away. Friendly neighbors as well. There's a few steps down to a gravel beach and an expansive view of the delta lake," describes Tris W. about her stay at Delta Lake.

Tips from RVers
Hookup availability: Treasure Isle RV Park provides RV-friendly accommodations with varied utility options. "Treasure Isle is nice and quite. The sites are a good size with water and electric on each site. There is a dumping station to use, some sewer sites," explains Heather R.
Site selection strategy: Choose carefully based on shade preference and privacy needs. "We had a waterfront hookup! So pretty especially in the morning with the sunrise. The road to get in was for the most part well taken care of. It was pretty quiet especially after quiet hours everyone was very respectful," reports Tris W. about Delta Lake.
Accessibility concerns: Some parks have challenging terrain for larger rigs. "The roadways can get a little tight between the trees, and can make for some interesting backing in. Also, the roadways are mostly one-way, which can make getting creative with your trailer landing position tough," advises Michael O. about Kayuta Lake Campground.
