This established campground sits on BLM land within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Pets are not permitted at Tonkin Spring, making it a consideration for campers traveling with animals. The remote location provides access to public lands for those exploring camping near BLM Land — Mount Lewis Field Office.
The nearest alternative accommodations include Bartine Hot Springs approximately 6 miles west and several options around Eureka to the east. Plan accordingly for supplies and services given the isolated setting within the national forest boundaries.
Description
Tonkin Spring is located northwest of the Roberts Mountains, at the mouth or Red Canyon, in Eureka County, Nevada. This recreation site is isolated and undeveloped with no facilities, so please plan your outing accordingly.
