Best RV Parks & Resorts near Shubert, NE

This campground is mainly for Rvs. The campsites are full hook ups which are $20. The sites each have a picnic table, and fire pit. They are on pavement, level, and are kind of close together. There is a nice playground away from the sites along with a fenced in sand volleyball court. The park also has a frisbee golf course. The lake/pond has a paved sidewalk surrounding it with plenty of benches scattered to just rest or enjoy the lake and it's wildlife. You can hear the bull frogs, geese, and coyotes when the sun goes down. There is a train track behind the lake, and it seems to have a train every few hours that you can hear from your site. A couple of things that I noticed was the large number of vehicles coming through the campgrounds that were not staying hear. It was very busy and noisy. They also have 2 large fenced in dog runs for the pups.

Coming from MO, Nebraska is usually just a one night stop for us (as we head onto bigger and cooler states). We were happy to find this clean RV park near Nebraska City. Big, but quiet. Friendly staff. Homey. Green space. Great dog park.

This RV park is one of the most well maintained and thought out parks we’ve stayed! The spots are easy to get into/out of and the staff were so nice and helpful!

Longterm and Short term RV camping in a newer part of town. all the hookups. Sites are directly behind a Dollar General and across the highway from the grocery and Shopko.

Auburn has a golf course and a decent disc golf course.

Good fishing in the Rotary lake.

This is a park for rvs inside the city of Shenandoah, Ia. It's a good place for a overnight or someone visiting someone from the town. Pretty basic but clean.

We only stayed here one night but would have gladly stayed longer. We didn't use everything but it seems to have all the amenities you might need - full hookups, propane, showers, laundry, dog park, play space for kids.

We were pretty close to our neighbors but not so close that it felt uncomfortable. Staff accommodated our need for a late check-in and even called to make sure we knew how to get to our site.

Really beautiful surrounding landscape and not too much road noise. Not sure if that might change depending on the site.

All in all, a good experience!

This newly acquired campground is truly a hidden gem. The new owners really care about making your stay pleasant.

There are two RV areas. The Sycamore Bluff Campground (North) and Shady Oak Campground (South).

We stayed in the Shady Oak Campground which was geared more towards families with children.

There is a skating rink, tennis courts, basketball court, mini golf, and small park for children. You have to buy an activity pass for everything which is $10 a day. If you’re camping you get one activity pass for free. Children 5 and under are free as well. Sundays are free as well.

They have heated shower rooms which are very clean.

The RV spots are pretty close together so backing in can be a challenge. The Sycamore Bluff Campground to the North of the campground has pull-through spots.

Firewood is $5 per bundle and ice is $5 per bag. You leave your money in a box in the red depot office and take what you pay for. This is also where you check in.

We stayed through Monday. Sunday was completely empty except for our family which made it slightly eerie at night.

Overall we had a great time and will be returning next year.

RV and tent campers only $15 a night with hookup. TENT CAMPING IS FREE! 10-night maximum. Dumping station. Water and electrical. The restrooms are quite a ways away. No showers available.

The town has some decent shopping, such as the Catholic thrift store which is so well set up it could be mistaken for a decent antique store, and a local clothing store with unique items.

The disc golf course in town is challenging and well laid out.

Scenery is Beautiful and when it comes to taking a boat on the lake, everyone is great about safety! We have visited with parks and recreation, county deputy Sanderson, and Maintenance. All pleasant to visit with. The electrical hookups for RV’s are 30 or 50 AMP. Located in Area 4, southeast corner of the lake. Anyone who comes to visit will come to know and Appreciate why it is we love to visit here.

Victorian Acres was fine for one night. Not a lot to say about it. It backs up to the highway, but after a long day of driving we slept through the noise. There weren’t any fire pits because “it was too cold”. That’s exactly why we wanted one. The bathhouse was ok. The women’s bathroom was fine, even large for the size of the campground. Unfortunately, both toilets in the men’s bathroom were backed up and broken, huge bummer! 💩 There was a small dog park , we didn’t get to use it since we got in late and left early so I cannot comment on the condition. We were on site 55, easy to access and leave from. It was sort of level, but we still felt like we were tipping sideways a bit in the van. There were 30amp electric and water hookups.

This is a recreational area by the town Essex Ia. It has a quiet lake, with fish a jumpin. It also has multipurpose trails. There are a few different accesses around the lake. There is the south access that is day use area. It has grilles, picnic tables, and trail accesses. You go to the west and there is the equestrian camp grounds. This one is pretty Basic, honestly. It has electrical hook ups, horse corals, and out house. The north side access is where the normal campgrounds are located. They have rv sites and farther in is the tent sites. All sites have a picnic table and fire rings. This whole area is well shaded and quiet. There is also full bathrooms with a shower, toilet, and sink.

Pluses: pull thru lots, very level, convenient hook-ups

Minuses: A bit out of the way for one overnight stay, but you wouldn't want to stay any longer. The camp is not well cared for and the lake is stagnant with dead trees in our view.

There are truly electrical hookups just about everywhere and there are no marked sites that I could find. We just pulled off the road to an electrical station and plugged in. Sadly, the 30A plug I plugged into kept tripping the breaker, but I always have a backup 20-30A converter, I just don't get to use my AC (cool night, didn't matter). It would be great if there was some brochure or site map at the location so you didn't feel like your were gonna ruin their well maintained lawn.

Nice quiet park with lots of family activities. The camping spots were mostly wide with 30/50 power hookups. Paved parking pads made leveling the camper easy. All the park staff we interacted with were very friendly. We hiked, biked, played disc golf, and practiced our archery. Great park that was quiet and offered lots to visitors.

I went to camp for Memorial Day weekend. It is first come first served so we dropped the trailer off early. The sites aren’t marked. First, I was told I had to move because I was in a spot for bigger campers. I had someone go move the camper because I live an hour and 20 min away from the site. Then after I was parked in that spot for 2 days, I was told it was for seasonal campers only and I would have to move again. Again I had to get someone else to move the camper for me. We finally arrive and the same spots I was parked are now being occupied by other small/non seasonal campers.

There were nails all over the area where you drive and park the trailer I picked up no less than 10 before I gave up We ended up with a flat on the car Good thing it wasn’t the trailer

This is a wonderful park.  There are a lot of things to do and the sites are beautiful.  This review is for the site at Hackberry Hollow.  The sites are back-in sites with electrical hookups and water from a hydrant on the loop.  The end of part of the loop is up the hill above the bathhouse that has flush toilets, showers, and laundry. Lots of birds, racoons, and terrific spiders.  Watch out for ticks though.  Lone Star Ticks were abundant in April.

The park also has a store, a museum, horseshoe pits, archery, trails, and boating on the Missouri river.  There is a cemetary and an old restored town. Indian Cave isn't open to the public because the stairs and boardwalk are in need of repairs.

This park is a beautiful lake. We saw white pelicans and blue herons on this visit but it is not uncommon to see hawks, owls, and eagles in the area. This is a new park dedicated this year by the Nemaha NRD: sort of a multi-county natural resource agency found exclusively in Nebraska.

The picnic tables, vault toilets, paved walking trails, playground equipment are all new and well laid out. Gravel slabs with electrical hookup are only $12 a night but that is deceiving because you need to purchase a $5 day pass or $15 annual pass to come to the park. Yet even the some of the primitive sites have slabs for a pop-up and did not appear to cost anything beyond your vehicle pass.

The lake is too small for any boat with more than a trolling motor (there is a boat ramp) and should be outstanding for a kayak or canoe. Fishing should be great here. Paved trail and wide gravel slabs with raised fire pits should make this a great rustic getaway for handicapped campers. There is even a paved path to the end of a jetty of fishing in the lake.

This park is close to the Steamboat Trace Hiking/Biking Trail which is a 26-mile trail following the bluffs and coming within spitting distance of the Missouri River. Peru Nebraska is close, home of one of the oldest colleges this side of the Mississippi. Peru is also close for limited supplies such as Ice and band-aids. Auburn and Nebraska City are both about 10 miles away, Neb City has a Walmart.

I think this park is best for a quiet weekend getaway. I recommend you contact the NRD for an annual pass and take advantage of the other parks they operate. You could hike or Bike the Trace and tent camp for free!

Nice Quiet camping in a secluded part of town by a stream and City fishing pond.

Very clean with hookups.  They were locked due to COVID, and the city pool was closed for the same reason. Yet when open the showers at the pool are available to campers and there are flush toilets in the modern Restroom.

The quiet sunken garden with lovely statues make this place a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to get away for a couple of days and want hookups.  I have not seen it at night but have been told it takes on a life of it's own.
