Several RV parks surround Greenville, Mississippi, providing convenient bases for motorhome travelers exploring the Mississippi Delta region. Leroy Percy State Park Campground, located in Hollandale about 20 miles from Greenville, offers 16 full hookup RV sites with both 30-amp service and water connections. The park remains open year-round and accommodates big rigs with spacious, level sites. Cypress Bend RV Park in Glen Allen provides more economical options with weekly rates of $185 and monthly rates of $350-$390 depending on whether 30-amp or 50-amp service is needed. Warfield Point Park, situated directly on the Mississippi River, features 52 RV sites with varying hookup configurations, though only 5 sites offer full hookups. "Nice concrete pads in several pull through spots," noted one RV camper about Pecan Grove RV Park, which sits just across the Mississippi state line in Lake Village, Arkansas.

Most RV campgrounds in the area accept pets, though specific restrictions may apply. Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with stronger signals typically available near Greenville proper and weaker coverage at more remote parks. Dump stations are available at Leroy Percy State Park and several other facilities, though not all parks offer this amenity on-site. Cash payment is required at some locations, including Warfield Point Park and Cypress Bend RV Park. During summer months, mosquitoes can be problematic, particularly at riverside locations. While some parks like Flamingo Pointe RV Park maintain excellent facilities with a perfect 5.0 rating, others such as Warfield Point have experienced maintenance issues following Mississippi River flooding. Reservations are recommended, especially for weekend stays, as the limited number of full hookup sites can fill quickly.

      Pendleton Bend

      Nice people, basic facilities

I stopped here for one night with a travel trailer and was in site B-01 for $16. The sites are spacious. For example, the water hookups are half way between the sites to be shared, and my 50ft hose just barely could reach. It is pet friendly and we had fun sitting on a dock and watching the cargo boats. There is absolutely no cell phone signal and no WiFi, so have physical directions on you. The park is only a couple miles from Arkansas Post National Memorial which was very beautiful and worth a visit.

Picnic table, fire ring, lantern site with pit toilet and trash, and potable water is available from the Delta Work F.C.

Off of Highway 16 out of Rolling Fork, MS, we turned onto Fire Tower Road, you can take this road at two different places. We went to the second turn for a shorter trip and the gravel road in is not as pot holed than the first turn. Once you pass thru the open gate travel follow the GPS coordinates for directions. If you love primitive campsites you will love this and you will love this National Forest. We are very partial to primitive sites that are amazing. This is a very small campsite equipped with picnic table, fire ring and lantern pole. You will find some beautiful cypress trees and bayou's scattered through out the forest. Alcohol is NOT allowed in DNF. Food storage needs to be taken serious because of bear and wildlife in the forest. These are right off the gravel road and across from each other. I would guess that during the season you can make a meal out of the mosquitoes or I would guess they will make a meal of you. This site is so beautiful and I can't wait to go back. I know this is primitive but remember you MUST HAVE RESERVATIONS AND HAVE PAID FOR SITE. If it has rained you need to be aware that the site could be muddy. It had been bush hogged and was in great shape.

      Lake Chicot State Park Campground

      nice park

After booking through Arkansas State Parks website, we received a follow up call from the park itself which was unusual but very nice. We booked site 42 in area B but there was standing water in the site so we got site 50. We chose this site because it was on higher ground and relatively close to the bath house in area D. The bath house in our area is no longer opened. Bath house D is very nice. We had no problems switching sites probably due to the off season.

Camping areas C and E are closed. Area F has full hook-ups and 30 amps. The sites are nice but a little short. Cabins are VERY nice. Area A contains the prime sites with full hook-ups and 30 and 50 amps. There is a bait store and a marina which rents boats (closed due to off-season). There is a fishing pier, basketball court, pool, 3 pavilions, playground, and a horseshoe pit. The visitor's center is very nice and informative.

Wildlife seems to be abundant as we saw dozens of deer, large raccoons, squirrels, pelicans, and ducks.

Cell phone (Verizon) and antenna reception are good possibly because there are no leaves on the trees.

      Fish Lake Campground

      Awesome

      Dates:  year round

Fee:  $7.00  Must have reservations site 18

      Accessible:  No

You must make reservation with 877-444-6777 or recreation.gov

Picnic table, fire ring, lantern pole.  This is dispersed camping but only in the numbered campsites.  Potable water is available from the Delta Work Force Center.  This is off Highway 16 out of Rolling Fork, MS.  We turned on the second exit for Fire Tower Road because it is shorter to the campsite and the dirt road is in better shape.  Look for the turn and follow it all the way to the dead end.  There is a beautiful, peace cypress water area with cypress stumps and wonderful trees.  The area was bush hogged so grass was very low.  If you love to boondock this is the spot.  No sun so solar will not work.  If you need power bring your generator and I would bring all the supplies needed so you don't have to drive out.

      Pecan Grove RV Park

      Nice stop

Pecan Grove is a nice place to stop on our way home from Florida. There’s several permanent residents but it seems there is always a spot for us to stay for a night. Nice concrete pads in several pull through spots.

Warfield Point Park Washington County Park

      Dejected and rejected

      Sites: 52 RV and tent

      Limit: 14 days

      Fees:  $15.00-$150.00

Reservations: For sites 1-19$25.00 guarantees one night non refundable all other sites FCFS

Warfield Point Park would be an extremely nice campground and recreation area if it was maintained. The campground is located on 80 acres of mature growth trees of pecan and cottonwoods and sits between the levy and the Mississippi River. You will have to cross over the levy to reach the camp. There is a gate house that was not manned when we arrived. The pecan trees in the park provided the camper some nice pecans. What a feast. Disc golf, some pull through, fire ring, picnic table, toilets, showers. There was a sense of abuse and disuse in the park and we did not stay. Several of the sites had drink cans in and around the fire ring. We did not check out the bathrooms since the air of the park did not feel right. The site needed to be mowed but the river looked great.

    Guide to Greenville

Campgrounds near Greenville, Mississippi provide varying amenities for outdoor enthusiasts exploring the Mississippi Delta region. Located in the alluvial plain formed by the Mississippi River, the area features flat terrain with rich soil and an abundance of wetlands. Summer brings high humidity and temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F, while winter months offer milder conditions with occasional freezing temperatures.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Lake Chicot State Park Campground offers excellent fishing access where you can watch cargo boats pass by on nearby waterways. As one camper noted, "We had fun sitting on a dock and watching the cargo boats," highlighting the unique river experience available at Pendleton Bend.

Disc golf courses: Play a round at Leroy Percy State Park where one visitor shared, "We brought our kayaks and got some fishing done in alligator lake but only after playing an 18 hole disc golf course!" Disc golf is also available at Oak Grove City Park which has "frisbee golf" among its recreation options.

Swimming options: During summer months, take advantage of the swimming pool at Peacock in the Delta which operates from "June 1-October 2" according to management. The property also features tennis courts and horseback riding for additional recreational activities.

    What campers like

Waterfront views: Campsites along Lake Chicot provide scenic waterfront locations. A visitor remarked, "Waterfront sites are wonderful, however the other sites are much less attractive," showing the premium value of lakeside spots at Lake Chicot State Park Campground.

Spacious sites: Many campgrounds feature generous site dimensions. At Pendleton Bend, one camper observed, "The sites are spacious. For example, the water hookups are half way between the sites to be shared, and my 50ft hose just barely could reach."

Wildlife viewing: The Delta region hosts diverse wildlife. A visitor at Leroy Percy State Park Campground mentioned, "Woodpeckers very active in the morning," while others report seeing pelicans and other birds throughout the region.

    What you should know

Cell coverage concerns: Some campgrounds have limited connectivity. At Pendleton Bend, visitors warn, "There is absolutely no cell phone signal and no WiFi, so have physical directions on you," making advance planning necessary.

Insect activity: Mosquitoes and other insects can be problematic throughout the Delta. A Lake Chicot visitor reported, "Noseeums and other mosquitoes a little bad but could be worse," while another camper mentioned mosquitoes forced them to "eat dinner inside our trailer, although it was otherwise nice enough to eat outside."

Bathroom facilities: Quality varies significantly between parks. A detailed review of Pendleton Bend noted bathroom limitations: "Do they have flushing toilets, yes! Sadly only slightly better than a hole in the ground with a seat" and "Curtains you ask? No we don't need those!"

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly amenities: Oak Grove City Park offers multiple activities for children. A visitor mentioned, "Lots of kid activities - tennis court, playground, frisbee golf," making it suitable for families seeking recreational options.

Cabin accommodations: For families wanting more comfort, cabin rentals provide alternatives to tent camping. At Leroy Percy State Park Campground, a visitor shared, "Stayed in a cabin which had everything we needed. Very relaxing," though they cautioned about proximity to water: "Cabins are close to the bayou. Would be very cautious with children."

Swimming precautions: Despite swimming opportunities, water safety remains important. Lakes and bayous in the region may contain alligators, particularly at Leroy Percy which features "Alligator Lake" where visitors can fish while maintaining appropriate distance from wildlife.

    Tips from RVers

Concrete pads: Several RV campgrounds Greenville, Mississippi offer level concrete sites. At Leroy Percy State Park, a camper noted, "Sites are big, level and cement. We stayed in a 29' TT," providing stable parking for larger rigs.

Full hookup availability: Flamingo Pointe RV Park offers complete connections for self-contained camping. A visitor mentioned, "The location was very quiet, nicely maintained and had full hook ups," which includes water, electric, and sewer connections.

Cost considerations: Campground rates vary significantly. Pecan Grove RV Park was described by one camper as "$37.50 per night which was high for what you get," while others noted Cypress Bend's more economical weekly and monthly rates.
