Description

Family owned and operated and now celebrating our 42nd year in business, Westport Camping Grounds offers a quiet and safe haven in the shade of our 33 acres of oaks, pines, and maple trees. Built from the ground up by the Costa family in 1974, Westport Camping Grounds prides itself on offering personal service and pleasant accommodations. Sites with water, electric (30 amp), and sewer hookups are available by the week, month, and for our seasonal term. We are located within short distances to beaches, hiking, kayaking, outlet shopping, and more. Please inquire about your reservation by calling guest manager, Martin Costa, or our friendly and dedicated staff at (508) 636-2555 between the hours of 9am and 8pm. For many years, the Costa family vacations included a fair share of tent camping throughout New England. Patriarch, George Costa, dreamed of creating a campground out of the 33 acres of woodland that had previously been used as a family livestock and vegetable farm. With the assistance of his two sons and daughters, and wife, Tina, Westport Camping Grounds opened its doors in June of 1974. Forty years later, son Martin takes the management reins and welcomes you to a place “Where strangers meet and become friends!” Unlike most destination campgrounds which are family oriented with a full range of activities and amenities, our goal is to provide a “back to nature” experience with no activities scheduled and few amenities. Most of our campers are “adults only” though children are welcome to stay and/or visit. Many campers are out-of-towners staying with us the entire season before heading back South. Others come for a relaxing weekend or several weeks stay as they explore the beautiful SouthCoast of Massachusetts. Our philosophy is to offer camping in a peaceful, no frills sort of atmosphere with friendly staff to make your stay enjoyable. Come relax beneath the shade trees and discover what many call a “hidden gem.” We look forward to seeing you soon!
