Camp Cacapon operates on 8 acres with reservations available and rates from $45-115 per night. This privately-managed property accommodates RVs, tents, and walk-in campers with full hookups available. The converted single-family residence serves as the base for tent sites, cabin rentals, and one elevated RV spot with electric, water, and sewer connections.
The campground sits directly along the Cacapon River with immediate water access for kayaking and floating. Reviewers consistently mention the mix of open grass areas and mature tree cover, plus distinctive chainsaw art scattered throughout the grounds. Paul O. notes it "mixes tall trees with well manicured grass areas" and describes "nice water access to a creek that is wide and inviting." The property includes glamping tents with queen beds, heating, and USB charging ports.
WiFi reaches throughout the campground, though cell service remains limited or nonexistent. Facilities include clean bathrooms with large stainless steel sinks, hot outdoor showers, and a covered pavilion for group meals. The grounds receive frequent maintenance attention, with multiple reviews highlighting the cleanliness and upkeep. Campers can bring kayaks and canoes, though rentals are not available on-site.
Road access works for most RVs, though large rigs may find the approach challenging. The location puts campers about 20 minutes from Great Cacapon for dog-friendly dining options. Theresa R. recommends bringing "a screen room" due to seasonal bugs near the water. Pets are welcome throughout the property, and the owners provide carts to transport gear to sites.

Directions
Coming from Berkeley Springs on WV-9 W/Cacapon Rd, pass Doris’ Deli in Great Cacapon (very well stocked General Store) ¼ mile past Doris’, turn left at the Emmanuel Baptist Church on to Rock Ford Rd. At this point, reset your tripometer…as you will stay on this winding road for 4.6 miles. After 3 miles, you will cross over a “low water bridge” (wood bridge with no rails). Keep going on Rock Ford rd, for another 1.6 miles. There is a huge wood sign at the entry of our driveway, on the right, that says SULLIVAN’S CAMP CACAPON. Turn onto Sullivan’s Retreat Trail and follow it to the end (red roofs).
