Casner Creek Campground — Fall River State Park

Hikers and anglers find direct access to Fall River State Park's trail system and lake fishing from Casner Creek Campground's open terrain sites. The campground accommodates RVs up to 65 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections across paved and gravel back-in sites. Most spots fill with reservations, though walk-up sites remain available for spontaneous trips.

Sites spread across open ground near the lake, with primitive options offering the most expansive lake views according to multiple campers. The terrain drains well during rain events, avoiding the standing water issues common at other lakeside campgrounds. A centralized playground sits within easy walking distance of most sites, while vault toilets and shower facilities serve the camping area. "Fall River has some huge primitive sites so you can really spread out," notes Natalie.

Campers can explore additional camping options at nearby Fredonia Bay Campground — Fall River State Park and South Rock Campground — Fall River State Park within the same park system. A convenience store up the road stocks bait, ice, and camping essentials. Book ahead during peak season, as reserved sites often outnumber walk-up availability.

Many campers appreciated the spacious, quiet sites with beautiful lake views and family-friendly playground. Feedback commonly touched on mixed facility conditions - clean restrooms but some equipment maintenance issues.

Beautiful State Park!

Fall River has some huge primitive sites so you can really spread out! There is fishing, beautiful views of the lake, and the huge playground is centralized and close enough to let my kids go while I cook dinner. We camped in the rain (it poured!) but the terrain didn’t flood or hold huge puddles. Nice wide, open trails!

Nice state park close to Wichita

This was our first family outing of the year. We had a nice time. We pull a travel trailer and the hook up spots were fairly spacious. Most of the spots were reserved, but we didn’t feel crowded. Paved and gravel back in sites. In regards to our particular spot, our table was in a very sad state of repair, we didn’t really use it because it was kind of falling apart. The bbq grill was missing from our spot as well. The fire pit was standard, but again the built in grill was in somewhat bad repair, so I used my own. The park facilities were good, the vault toilet in the Casner creek campground was brand new and nice. The showers were in the campground over, but they were clean and had ample hot water. There was a great little store right up the road that sold bait, ice and essentials. When you are there, be sure to drive around and find the North Ridge campground. It is basically the ruins of an old Army Corps of Engineers campground. It was kind of creepy and cool.

Beautiful setting

Nice, quiet, relaxing!!!(Just there for the night) The primitive sites have the most amazing views!!! Nice easy trails and lots of road-age to walk on If we lived in the area we would definitely go back Only downfall was the bathhouse. It was full of some sort of gnats and no hot water.

Fun Area

Went Labor Day Weekend. I had called ahead since there were no reservations remaining. Come to find out they reserve a good number of campsites just for walk ups. Good to know when camping at Kansas State Parks
