Killarney Lake Picnic Site

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Gravel roads lead to Killarney Lake Picnic Site, so winter or early spring visits are not advisable once snow arrives. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management within the Coeur D'Alene Field Office, the site provides drinking water, toilets, and picnic tables. A boat launch sits just before the picnic area, though the lake is small and shallow in spots, limiting it to certain vessel types. Shrubby vegetation lines the waterfront, so direct lakeside access is restricted. Tree cover is dense enough to provide shade on warm days. The site runs uncrowded and works best for day use or short stays rather than overnight camping. Campers planning a longer trip may want to look at Kilarney Lake, located 0.5 miles south, or explore campsites near Medimont for fuller overnight options.

Work picnics are pretty fun here!

This area is beautiful! It has restroom access. It would not be nice to travel here in the snow though due to the gravel roads.

I did see some campground nearby but they were really small and did not look very nice. There’s much better campgrounds nearby that allow you to really take in the Environment.

It’s close to the water which was our dog loved.

There are a lot of trees in this area which makes for a good place to escape the heat. It was not busy which made it ideal for a small picnic for my coworkers.

There’s a boat launch area just before the Picnic area we used but the lake is fairly small so it’s only ideal for certain types of boats.

Around the lake are smaller shrub like trees so you can’t hang near the waterfront unfortunately.

There some marshy shallow areas nearby as well which would be a problem for motorized boats likely.

Over all we had fun but I’d really only want to hang out here for shorter periods (day activities)
