    Pebble Hill RV Resort

Not Quite A Resort, But Pretty Close!

I must admit, the concept of an RV Resort is lost on me, but that said, if I was looking for an RV Resort to spend the night(or a handful) than Pebble Hill RV Resort, located in the SE corner of Georgia, certainly ticks a number of boxes. At first glance, you would spy this RV campground and consider it to be, well, just like most of the rest– complete with 20/ 30/ 50 electrical amp and water hook-ups, slanted pull-through sites with a picnic table, BBQ and fire ring all encircling a small pond(with plans to develop a second one)– but upon a closer look(OK, more than a look, you’ll have to go for a short drive or a 10 minute walk) and you’ll come to the main house, where there’s a Victorian-like pool oasis, complete with sun loungers and umbrellas. Behind the great house here, you’ll discover another pond and about 20 additional spots– some of which they’ll let out to tent campers. Insider’s tip? I would definitely recommend a site near the main house, where, BTW, there’s plans to build a clubhouse/ gym space. There’s plenty of open spaces for a game of flag football or ultimate frisbee along with other amenities such as 2 laundry areas as well as fresh eggs every morning from the hens onsite, along with your pick of fresh produce from the resort’s own home-grown vegetable gardens, 2 dog parks along with a number of decent, albeit not-too-difficult hiking trails. This spot is pet friendly and overall, I found the owners, staff and rest of the RV-going community to be quite friendly, welcoming and inviting. Another upside to this spot is that it is relatively new and so the owners appear to be building and adding new things everyday. Insider’s tips? I have a handful… Nearby there’s a handful of golf courses(if that’s your thing) and for those wanting to hit the ocean shores, you’ll have about a 50 minute drive to the nearest beaches– not too bad when you consider the very reasonable prices you’ll be paying to stay at this spot. I’d also recommend that you check out some of what SE Georgia has to offer such as the quaint town of St. Mary’s, and it goes without saying, nearby Savannah, as well as some pretty outstanding islands like St. Simons, Jekyll, Sapelo and Cumberland. There’s also nearby General Coffee State Park, which has fantastic hiking trails and features a Heritage Farm so the little ones can see how hard it was to live(and have fun) back in the day. Happy Camping!

    Happy Campers RV Park

    Quite, close to Ft. Stewart

Stayed there for 4 nights while bow hunting Ft. Stewart. It's only 15 minutes to the front gate. While we were there it seemed like a pretty quite place, even  on the weekend. Spaces are pretty close to each other and most of the park is permanent buildings which appear to be for long term residences.

We were not around during the day but at night it was plenty quite. No fire pit but we did have a picnic table. Parking was on a concrete pad next to the RV.

Cell signal was good on T-Mobile. I recorded download speeds of 57 Mbps and uploads of 1.79 Mbps.

All and all I'd stay there again the lady I spoke with to make the reservation was quite helpful and emailed a copy of the campground map with directions. We used Passport America so our rate was $24.50 per night. I'd stay there again and likely will on our next hunt.

Little Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge

    Nice little park

Nice quiet park! Good assortment of pull through and back in sites, 30/50 amp sites. The campground is not flat, so some of the sites aren’t level, I did have to use a couple of boards to level my camper. Lots of trees.

Cabins, small lake, walking/bike trails. Trail was a good bit sandy. Small boardwalk on the trail. Not a golfer, but there is a course also.

Usually the hosts are excellent, very helpful!

Only complaint, only one dump station. Gets very busy with everyone leaving, so get there early!

    Towns Bluff Park

    Great campground

This is a county campground. It takes Pass Port America for Sunday thru Wednesday. If you’re looking for a resort campground, go somewhere else, this out in the middle of the woods, isolated, quiet and very nice. The lady that runs the museum & campground is very nice. She will do anything within her power to make your stay great. The sites are water & electric with a dump site as you leave 30/50 amp pull through/ back in. All sites appear to be close to level. Hazelhurst & Baxley are reasonably close. Gas/Diesel within 3 miles. Good food at Jan’s Chicken & Ma’s close to Uvalda.

Beaver Run RV Park & Campground

    Great little place to stop.

Couldn’t ask for a better stop. Full hook ups, easy checkin, super friendly staff, & warm cookies at checkin. There’s a ton of stuff for kids to do paddle boat, swimming, water slide, park, dog run, fishing. Possibly best of all WiFi that doesn’t suck. Remote work is totally doable at this location even while kids are streaming some Netflix! Thanks for a great stay well be back.

Laura S Walker State Park Campground

Nice campground for a short stay.

This is a nice State Park campground with about 50 sites. There are 2 pull through sites, and 2 full hook up sites. The rest are back in with water & electric. The sites are level b but there are done tight turns. Sites are also very close together, so very little privacy. There is a big lake with a swimming beach dispute signs everywhere warning of alligators! There is also a big picnic area with several shelters and. Playground, which includes some adult cardio equipment. The dog park is large, with two sections and grass. The showers and bathrooms are clean and modern. This is a convenient place for exploring Okefenokee Swamp. The private Swamp park is only 20 minutes away, and the National Wildlife Refuge is about an hour. Both offer boat tours of the swamp.

Laura S Walker State Park Campground

    Very nice state park

This state park is typical of Georgia state parks in that it is clean, mowed and well kept. Sites are situated so there is some privacy on your table side although fairly open. I do not think there are any sewer hookups and our site (32) has 30 amp. We are here Monday to Thursday and it is very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely come back. We stayed here in a 35’ Montana fifth wheel.
