No camping allowed… it’s a private road

It’s a beautiful area for a day hike, but as a campsite it’s explicitly “no camping allowed”. Plus, the actual geo-location listed here is past a gate on a private road (with private homes) so it’s just not a camping situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Cub Creek Primitive Campground located and how do I access it?

Cub Creek is located in a scenic natural area, however, it's important to note that the location indicated is past a gate on a private road with private homes nearby. While the area is beautiful for day hiking, it is not accessible for camping purposes. Visitors should be aware that attempting to access this location for overnight stays would mean trespassing on private property, which is not permitted.

What amenities are available at Cub Creek Primitive Campground?

Cub Creek Primitive Campground is not actually a designated camping area. Despite its name, camping is explicitly prohibited at this location. There are no camping amenities available as this is a day-use only area that's suitable for hiking but not overnight stays. The location is primarily a beautiful natural area for day hikes and outdoor recreation rather than a camping destination.

Are there photos or reviews of Cub Creek Primitive Campground to view before visiting?

While Cub Creek is a beautiful natural area worth visiting for day hiking, prospective visitors should understand this is not actually a campground. Since camping is prohibited at this location, photos specifically of camping at Cub Creek would not represent legal use of the area. For information about the natural beauty of the area for day use activities, check official park or forest service websites. If you're looking for actual camping options, contact the local ranger district or Rocky Mountain National Park for legitimate alternatives.

How does Cub Creek Primitive Campground compare to dispersed camping options in Rocky Mountain National Park?

Unlike legitimate dispersed camping options in Rocky Mountain National Park, Cub Creek is not a designated camping area at all. Camping is explicitly prohibited at Cub Creek. Rocky Mountain National Park offers designated backcountry camping sites that require permits, while true dispersed camping is generally allowed in the surrounding national forest lands outside park boundaries with proper permits. For legal camping experiences, visitors should contact Rocky Mountain National Park directly to inquire about backcountry permits or explore designated campgrounds in the area.
