Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort

    Tight sites

We didn’t know that the “20 miles from Yosemite” just meant the entrance, we still had to drive about 30 miles to get into the valley. The site we pulled into was really tight with a hill and drop off on either side so our picnic table had to be in front of the airstream. You are right next to the resort where there are restaurants but, not really any beach access and there aren’t wide walks around the lake. The facilities were nice and we had good wifi service but, I would recommend staying closer to Yosemite if you’re hiking.

Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort

    Great Spot & Beautiful Property

We booked this last minute over the phone, we were very impressed with the spot, next to the pool, clubhouse, fire pit. I do see that other spots are more crowded but overall the property is gorgeous and its a great fun family friendly place. We walked to pines village and got some souvenirs and ice cream. Great weather too. The river is also right in front of where we parked but it did not have much water.

    Mercey Hot Springs

    Amazing Place

I Van Camped at Mercey Hot Springs for 5 days. When I arrived the nights were hot so I decided to take an AC Cabin #10 where I could park right next to the cabin and slept comfortably. I moved to a RV camp site #5 when the temps at night were a more comfortable mid 60s. I love that the hot tubs are available all night long. It allows for long soaks while star gazing. The therapeutic water is magical some of the best I have found. As soon as you enter the pool or hot tubs you feel the smooth water on your skin. The hot tubs are all oversized privet bath tubs that you fill with mineral water of your desired temperature. This is a completely off the grid resorts that has good energy and tranquil atmosphere. It is very clean with clean bath rooms and showers. When I was there in June 2024 they did not have the restaurant open yet but one looks like it is in the near future. They do have snacks, cold drinks, coffee, ice cream and Ice in the front office for purchase. I took the short hike up the hill to see the solar array, while up there I discovered a most amazing triple Labyrinth circle walk that was very mindful experience. I have never seen such a neat labyrinth as this. Truly an amazing stay, I will be back.

Will steal your money, points, and flash you in the bathroom!

Absolutely the worst human beings on the planet. A man flashed my son in the bathroom and blamed my son for it.

We camped in a non-electric tent site for $30, I was charged $68 but she (the manager) used up all my points to pay for it, and pocketed the $30 I already dropped in the overnight box.

They only want you to come, sleep, and leave. Don't even think about enjoying the property or cabin.

They have cameras watching you and will nit pick you to death. They will tell you where to park, then get mad at you for parking there.

The employees drive around, obviously under the influence. I once witnessed the maintenance man running over the fire pit. Smh.

    High Sierra RV Park

    Basic campsite

The campsite was 39 and it was right next to the bathroom. To leave with a 26’ travel trailer I had to pull out and back down another road just to exit the park. The showers had two each but you have zero privacy when drying yourself. One in the mens exits to the urinal and the other into the entrance door. The only few positive things are that they are friendly and you have shade from the trees on the property. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the South Yosemite National Park entrance.

Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort

Large campground, great amenities, lots of trees

Fairly big campground, with some spots having a good amount of privacy in a forest. Our site (#162) was large enough, although not very level. The sewer connection was almost level with our dump pipe, so it made dumping a challenge. The "Downtown" area, which is the center of the campground, has spots for members only, but they're very close together. Maybe good for group get-togethers where you are 10' from your neighbor. Amenities include a pool, day room with tons of things to do, a separate day room for kids, a large fire pit, showers, store at the office, horseshoe and 2 shuffleboard courts. While we were there, they played movies at sunset next to the pool. Close to Yosemite, the Sugarpine railroad and a decent-sized town. Temps were in the 80's. Overall a very nicely maintained place to stay. Staff seemed a bit aloof, but maybe they were all just busy. It's a large place. We actually loved the interaction with the staff at 49er RV Park, which was a lot smaller.

    Almond Tree Oasis RV Park

Great park to get some shuteye and be refreshed for your next adventure.

It’s hot!! In the summer this place is very hot. However, there are full hookups to run your AC and there are two saltwater pools to jump into. We stopped at this park for one night, twice as a halfway point between southern and northern California. Right off the I-5 freeway next to a Shell and Valero gas station. All sites are pull throughs and we found the gravel to be very level. We did not unhitch for a early morning exit. Bathrooms and showers are cleaned regularly. A rain and windstorm came through in the middle of the night and palm and almond tree leaves were in the pool but by 9am it was cleaned up. The staff is friendly and responsive, and they have a little store that includes some RV supplies such as hoses. Want a quick meal? There is a Baja Fresh and Subway in the Shell gas station next store. Great park to get some shuteye and be refreshed for your next adventure.

Cabin accommodations near Biola, California range from rustic to modern units within Sierra National Forest and the surrounding areas. Most cabin rentals are located 40-60 miles east of Biola at elevations between 3,000-4,000 feet, offering relief from Central Valley heat. Summer temperatures at cabin locations typically run 10-15 degrees cooler than Biola, with winter snow possible at higher elevations.

What to do

Explore Bass Lake water activities: Bass Lake offers boating, fishing, and swimming within 2 miles of several cabin rental properties. At Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort, cabins provide access to the lake and recreational facilities. "Only a 15 min hike to the lake and a 30 min drive into Yosemite. We spent the weekend in site 126 it was a level site with limited shade and full hookups," notes one visitor.

Enjoy hot springs soaking: Cabins at Mercey Hot Springs provide access to therapeutic mineral waters. "The therapeutic water is magical some of the best I have found. As soon as you enter the pool or hot tubs you feel the smooth water on your skin. The hot tubs are all oversized privet bath tubs that you fill with mineral water of your desired temperature," reports one guest who stayed in cabin #10.

Visit mineral exhibits: The California State Mining and Mineral Museum is located at the Mariposa Fairgrounds where cabin accommodations are available. "Make sure you go to the Mine and Mineral museum on the grounds," advises a camper at Mariposa Fairgrounds, noting its proximity to cabin rentals.

What campers like

Clean bathing facilities: Cabin guests frequently note shower and bathroom cleanliness. At High Sierra RV Park, which offers cabin rentals, a visitor mentions, "Nice camp, clean toilets and restrooms." Another notes that at Mercey Hot Springs, "It is very clean with clean bath rooms and showers."

Off-grid experiences: Some cabin rentals provide a chance to disconnect. "This is a completely off the grid resort that has good energy and tranquil atmosphere," says one visitor about Mercey Hot Springs cabin accommodations, appreciating the lack of distractions.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Cabins book quickly during peak seasons. "Additionally, it was so easy to book online and we did it less than a week before our stay. That's why I don't want to hype this place up too much. I don't want to have to worry about fighting others for last minute spots," explains a visitor to Outdoorsy Yosemite.

Site positioning: Cabin locations vary in terms of privacy and space. "Our site (#162) was large enough, although not very level," notes a camper at Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort, while another mentioned, "sites a bit too close together for our liking but being close to the lake and Yosemite was a bonus."

Temperature considerations: Elevation impacts cabin temperatures significantly. At Yosemite RV Resort, a visitor observed, "Not worth the drive- but stayed here because I didn't plan ahead during COVID and national park restrictions. Nice place- but much warmer than the high elevation of the park."

Tips for camping with families

Pool access: Children appreciate swimming facilities at cabin locations. "We had a blast here. You're 25 miles from the park entrance, on a straight path. The sites were a great space and the pool and playground was a lot of fun of the kids," reports a visitor to Yosemite RV Resort.

Creek play areas: Natural water features provide entertainment for children. "I went here with my two kids and they loved playing in the creek. It doesn't have many amenities, but the space is nice with a fire pit and pick of table," states a visitor at Fish Creek Campground, which offers cabin options.

Playground facilities: Several cabin rental locations include play equipment. "Large clean pool with a shallow lounging section. Playground. Bathrooms/showers were freshly renovated and clean," describes a visitor about amenities at cabin rental locations.

Tips from RVers

Site selection: When booking cabins, consider site location carefully. "We booked this last minute over the phone, we were very impressed with the spot, next to the pool, clubhouse, fire pit. I do see that other spots are more crowded but overall the property is gorgeous," notes a visitor to Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort.

Wi-Fi reliability: Internet access varies widely at cabin locations. At Mariposa Fairgrounds, where cabins are available, one visitor was pleased to find "the wifi was the best campground internet we have experienced," while at Bass Lake locations, connection quality is more variable.
