Pretty good

We got here Sunset on a Sunday night and stayed down by the gully. Just one night in an effort to see the whole park. Nice big sites but wide open so no privacy. Nice, clean bathrooms with flush toilets and the dishwashing station is nice to have access to.

Great stargazing!

Great for star gazing

We camped a little off of the main lot in the sandy area. There was great visibility for star gazing. Only downside is that everyone is at this site so it isn’t super quiet and you don’t have that much privacy. Nice bathrooms though

Very Windy Stopover

Came in on Friday at 3pm and got the last space available. Very windy for most of the afternoon and didn’t calm down till night fall. Had to use my vehicles a wind block so set up my tent. Good host on site and decent restrooms. Travelled in April so it was still close to freezing at night. Not much between sites so not much privacy. On one of the trails from the site a rattlesnake was spotted.

As advertised

Stayed at Furnace Creek. Facilities as expected. Mix of tent and RV sites. Plan to secure your food and trash. I had a coyote get into the trash bag at 3 am.

Very spacious + convenient

Super spacious sites with bathrooms and a trough sink. It’s really conveniently located near the front of the park/visitors center. Nice view of sunset. Didn’t have any issues.

Not for the Faint of Heart

This is our go to site in Death Valley...BUT beware of the wind!  The wind comes down the canyon and can be fierce.  You need well staked tents with lots of weight.

Never had an issue getting a site here.  It is in the north end of the park and there is a dirt road to get to it so I think that keeps folks away.  Great place to head out to TeaKettle Junction, the Crater or the Race Track from.  Or the Castle when it is openned again.

The sites seemed to be geared more to RVs but those along  the dry wash work well for tents.  Not much shade and are open sites.  Great place for stars as there are no lights nearby. Usually not crowded like the south end of teh valley.

Been here in spring and fall with great success. I doubt I would venture here in teh summer.

so much to see

Mesquite spring campground is a great location in middle of everything. there is so much to do and see in death valley so it's nice to be centrally located. I highly suggest visiting the dunes and bringing a sled, especially if you have kids with you. Death Valley wasnt the ideal family trip for young kids but we made the most of it by participating in the junior ranger program. you can pick up the packet at the visitor center.

Hot and crowded

This campground everyone was close together and there was no shade at all. It was a nice large campground so you could explore all around it and it was very close to the visitor center as well as many hikes.

Great camp site

The sites don't have a lot of shade, but there is a lot of room to go hike and explore. Spaces are first come, first served, so get there early.

Best campground in DV!

Close to Scottys Castle, a little elevation and a bit cooler than the other campgrounds for sure. Also a lot nicer views and just the best damn site in the park!
