Mesquite Spring Campground — Death Valley National Park

Not for the Faint of Heart

This is our go to site in Death Valley...BUT beware of the wind!  The wind comes down the canyon and can be fierce.  You need well staked tents with lots of weight.

Never had an issue getting a site here.  It is in the north end of the park and there is a dirt road to get to it so I think that keeps folks away.  Great place to head out to TeaKettle Junction, the Crater or the Race Track from.  Or the Castle when it is openned again.

The sites seemed to be geared more to RVs but those along  the dry wash work well for tents.  Not much shade and are open sites.  Great place for stars as there are no lights nearby. Usually not crowded like the south end of teh valley.

Been here in spring and fall with great success. I doubt I would venture here in teh summer.
