Great Little Campsite

My friends and I stopped here for a night before we go camping in the backcountry and it was great! Has a little fire pit, bear box and nice flat spots to put your tent.

A Beautiful Place to Stop...

Stopped here after being blocked several times by snow as I tried to get to Medicine Lake.  Great USFS campground, didn't hear anyone using generators, and everyone walking the nearby paved trails were so friendly.  A quick walk to the lower falls revealed fisherpeeps & kayakers in harmony.  Deer in the morning, maybe looking for handouts (no no no) added to the serenity of this place.  Great sleep this night.

Awesome Location

I love that this campground is right by the river. The paved sites are nice. The bear locker was dirty and doesn’t seem like it gets cleaned. The vault toilet floors are not kept clean at all and don’t seem like they’re cleaned often. Site 21 is not private at all & you’re right next to the host who runs the generator for a 3-4 hours in the evening. To be expected, I know, but it’s when you’re cooking dinner and hanging out. Other than that it’s a really nice campground and the easy access trails are sweet. Fishing is good and there’s lots of wildlife.

Spacious and peaceful

This campground was a pleasant surprise! I picked it because it was in a great spot for where I wanted to end up that night. The sites were large with plenty of room between each. Many of the sites had shade. The path between the sites and the creek was odd- it took me a bit to realize these were people walking to different pools or falls. I’m glad I had a site that didn’t butt up against the trail. I was able to walk down to the creek from the campground and soak my feet, which was a great relief from the heat.

Well maintained and beautiful area!

This was a perfectly placed campground near the McCloud Falls, which are definitely recommended if you stay at the campground. Also, go to Clear Waters coffee and the adventure business next door, we had a great lunch and coffee at the cafe before heading north.

Beautiful Falls

Love this campground. Its away from the main road so no car noise. Paved road. No hookups but sites are big enough for med-large RVs. Vaulted bathrooms get a little smelly but this place is beautiful and way less busy than Burney Falls. Campground runs right along the trail and McCloud river so you can walk right from camp to fishing spots and all 3 of the falls. If you want a swimming hole drive a couple miles away to Cattle Camp swimming hole.

Basic campground with epic waterfalls

Fowler’s is a a basic site campground, small but plenty of spots. They don’t offer much but the basic fire pit and non-flushable bathrooms but the hikes to Lower falls and Middle falls make up for it!! Super dog friendly and great river to fish from. Mccloud is about 10-15mins from the camp ground with a store and local brewery. Fowlers is a great camp spot for all trail heads either north or south.
