Quit campground

We booked this campground last minute on a trip and being the last stop it was great to have a quite area. We were in site 12 which was a group site but it was all the had. We were tent camping and had plenty of flat area for our tent and we were far enough away from neighbors that it was quite.…

Nice little spot!friendly fisherman and ranger.

The good: not far from civilization. Friendly folks. Quiet unless someone has a generator...bathrooms work and stocked with t.p.

The bad: Google maps takes you almost there and then it looks like you cannot continue because of road. The map is wrong. Keep going on road and you will find it!

Beautiful views

This was our 2nd time camping here. Huge sites and we were right up from the lake. Swimming AND fishing. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because it needed mowing. LOL  But it was quiet and NOT crowded at all, and we went in July when it should have been crowded. We definitely will come back!

Stunning views

Sunsets and views of the stars are amazing from this campsite on the lake. Bathrooms were well cleaned despite a weird smell that smelt of cleaner and dead bugs combined. The site is well maintained and the views are so worth the weird bathroom smell.

Wonderful Campsite

What a pleasant surprise! Plenty of space, easy back in parking. You can walk to the crater if you like, less than a mile. Nice bathroom and showers. Stayed 2 nights. Plenty of stars. No bright light to ruin the true camping experience!

My fortress of Solitude

No frills. Bring everything. Quiet spots on the lake. If you have squeamish kids along, maybe bring a “Luggable Loo”, as the toilets get scarier after dark. Because it’s on BLM land, access can be closed by the government, like when a certain moron closed all National parks in 2013.

Possibly No Longer a Drive-In Site

I tried to car camp at the site but there was a decently tall dirt mound where the map told me to turn before getting on the final road leading to the campground. Long story short, it looks like there is a dirt road behind the tall mound blocking the path, so the park may have created this wall in…

Peaceful campground with nice lake views

Stayed over Thanksgiving weekend and had a really nice time! If you want to be out in the middle of nowhere, this is the place for you. After Sunday morning, most people cleared out, leaving the whole loop to us for Mon/Tue. There are multiple nice RV sites with access to small beaches as well as…

Beautiful spots

Great forest setting and if you are lucky you can get a spot overlooking the lake. Close to Hot Springs trails and city life but even closer to the IMBA epic trails in the area.

Beautiful

Campground is really nice and convenient to the crater. Very hot Diamond mining in the summer as there is very little to no shade in the crater. Nice swimming creek nearby.

Great time

Went here a while back for some hiking and camping. Spent 3 days put here. Rained heavily on the 2nd day and small creeks and rivers became huge swells. This is for a more experienced hiker if ypu going during rainy season. Great views and feels awesome. 10/10

This place is huge!

On a whim, I reserved a site driving from Tennessee to Texas. Had to book through the recreation.gov app, which does not give you a good idea of what is booked or not. However, after getting here, there was NOBODY around. I would guess that this beautiful park has 60 or more sites? Maybe 10 of them…

  • One of the pads near us.
  • Look, nobody for 200 yards!
  • Nice picnic area. 2018 Jeep GC Ecodiesel
