The Signal Mountain Campground is centrally located inside Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) and provides a convenient basecamp for accessing all the park has to offer. This 80-site campground is located adjacent to Signal Mountain Lodge which provides many amenities you might need for your National Park adventures. The campground sits on the southeast shore of Jackson Lake and offers easy access to the lake waters and short walks to unparalleled views of the Teton Range. The area is frequented by various park wildlife, large and small as well as a variety of bird species. The Signal Mountain Campground is normally one of the first campgrounds to open and last to close in the park and can often have lingering snowpack during the opening weeks after heavy winters and possible early wintery weather at the end of the season. Due to the variability of weather in the Tetons, visitors should come prepared, especially during the months of May and October.

Inside the tent there is a comfortable king size bed, a mini couch that turns into a pullout sleeping mat that can fit two small children. There are also two sleeping mats that can be used but are short in length so fit a child best. The table seats 4 to play games or work at. Outside is a fire pit and picnic table to enjoy meals outdoors. A hammock is in the trees nearby to lay back and relax. Private porta potty located near the tent.



Teton View Tent

Your private RV parking spot is backed up to Trail Creek, with a bounty of berry bushes and willows that provide a cozy campsite. Less than a mile from downtown Victor, this location is convenient for all activities in the Tetons.

Grand Teton National Park is a 25 mile drive. It is around 100 miles to two different entrances to Yellowstone National Park, making it possible to do a long day trip loop. There is plenty of mountain biking, hiking, and rivers to explore. Grand Targhee and Teton Village are each about 20 miles and both have lots of fun summer activities. Jackson Hole is 25 miles away.

Grand Teton RV Getaway

This small campground is a few hundred yards from the east shore of Jenny Lake. The campground straddles a glacial moraine covered with an open forest of lodgepole pine, subalpine fir and Douglas fir. Across the lake, Teewinot Mountain, Cascade Canyon and Mount St. John dominate the landscape. No trailers, campers, or generators are allowed. Vehicles cannot be over 8 feet high or 14 feet long. Maximum per site is two tents, one vehicle, and six guests for up to 7 nights. ADA Access: The Jenny Lake Campground has two loops with 49 individual campsites and 10 hiker and bicycler sites. Three campsites are ADA compliant. Tent camping only – vehicles over eight feel high, trailers, cab-over campers, and raised pop-tops on vans are prohibited. Payphone is available at the campground kiosk. Routes to the amphitheater are not wheelchair accessible. The trail is uneven gravel and rocks with vegetation encroaching on the path. A campground host is onsite.

All backcountry camping requires a permit. Backcountry camping permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis no more than one day before the start of your trip. Visit the backcountry reservations page to learn more about the reservation process and submit a reservation.

Trapper Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming. Trapper Lake is only 0.10 mi (0.16 km) north of Bearpaw Lake and at the eastern base of Mount Moran. The lake can be accessed on foot by the Leigh Lake Trail which is an easy 4.6-mile (7.4 km) hike on level terrain.

Trapper Lake Backcountry Camping 

This rustic campground is in a remote park of Grand Teton National Park. The campground is 11 miles south of Yellowstone and eight miles north of Colter Bay Village providing easy access to both parks. The campsites are in a spruce and fir forest on the shores of Jackson Lake. One mile across the lake is the northern portion of the Teton Range including Webb Canyon, Owl and Ranger peaks. Looking south, the expanse of the Teton Range towers over Jackson Lake. ADA Access: The Lizard Creek Campground has two loops with 60 individual sites. At this time, none are ADA accessible. In the future, the campground will redesign sites to be compliant. Restroom facilities are partially accessible. No showers are available. No payphone is available. Route into the amphitheater is well-compacted gravel and on a slight slope.

Twelve campgrounds within Yellowstone National Park provide adventurers with plentiful options, but planning ahead is vital. The Canyon Campground allows easy access to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, a picture-perfect waterfall and river vista in the north-central region. Visit Artist’s Point and hike the 300 feet down to the lower falls to feel the rush of the Yellowstone River. 


For a more touristy experience, snag a site in the Madison Campground. Being one of the largest in the park and less than 20 miles from the famous geyser Old Faithful, this area is a go-to for first time visitors. Sitting at an elevation just below 7,000 feet, the crisp mountain air will refresh. This area gets a lot of traffic, so pack in your patience and remember that the parks are for everyone to enjoy. 


Camping in Wyoming also gives the chance to get off the grid. Grand Teton National Park is directly to the south of Yellowstone and allows for some easy-access backpacking. When done right, you can avoid the droves of humanity that flock to the Greater Yellowstone region. 


For an easy trek into the backcountry, get a scenic spot along Leigh Lake or String Lake. These camping sites are often booked months in advance, so get them quick! A hidden gem tucked in the shadow of Mount Moran is Bearpaw Lake and is also relatively accessible from the same trail. Remember your bear spray and enjoy some genuine Wyoming camping!

Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway, Flagg Ranch is only two miles south of Yellowstone and five miles north of Grand Teton. Wilderness surrounds the Headwaters development. The upper reaches of the Snake River flow through meadows mixed with open conifer forest. The Yellowstone Plateau rises to the north and Huckleberry Mountain to the east. ADA Access: The Headwaters Campground at Flagg Ranch has 97 RV sites and 34 tent sites. Most sites are accessible to wheelchairs. Restroom facilities are accessible. One fully accessible shower is available. Routes to the amphitheater are well-compacted gravel and on a gently sloping incline/decline. The campground loop roads are well-compacted gravel and mostly level, with gently sloping incline/decline.

Headwaters Campground 

Open late May to late September. Located 25 miles north of Moose with 350 individual sites without utility hookups and 11 group sites. Individual sites without hookups are first-come, first-served, advanced reservations are not accepted. The Colter Bay RV Park has sites with full utility hookups. Reservations are accepted for sites in the RV Park and for group sites in the campground. Colter Bay Campground and RV Park has modern comfort stations with a trailer dump station, showers and laundry nearby. Colter Bay is a wooded campground with larger sites and easier access if you are traveling with a camper, trailer or RV. Close to Jackson Lake with many nearby activities. The campground generally fills in the afternoon , if at all, reservations are advised for the RV Park. The maximum length of stay is 14 days with no more than 30 days in the park per year. Colter Bay Campground

Teton Canyon Campground is located in beautiful Teton Canyon at an elevation of approximately 6,500 feet. Driggs, Idaho is just 11 miles away. Hiking, backpacking and horseback riding are popular activities in this scenic region. Recreation The towering Teton Range and Jedediah Smith Wilderness are adjacent to the canyon. Excellent hiking, backpacking and horseback riding opportunities abound, with trails leaving from the campground. A horse staging area is located at the trailhead parking area. Teton Creek runs alongside the campground. Fly-fishermen love casting for brook and Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Facilities This newly-renovated campground contains several campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring, grill and food storage locker. Two equestrian sites are available for those camping with horses. Vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided but there is no electricity. Some first come, first served sites may also be available. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. Natural Features The campground is situated along Teton Creek, with partial views of the nearby Teton Range. A dense forest of pine, spruce and fir covers half of the campground, providing nice shade. The other half of the campground is more open, with aspens and pines dotting the summer wildflower-filled meadows. A variety of wildlife makes its home in the area, including moose and deer. Nearby Attractions Popular activities in the area include the Teton Valley Summer Festival over the Fourth of July in Driggs, complete with a hot air balloon festival, parade, rodeo, bike races and antique and craft booths. Grand Targhee Resort is nearby and hosts outstanding annual music festivals: Targhee Fest is in mid-July; Targhee Bluegrass Festival is in mid-August. The resort also offers lift-served hiking and mountain biking, scenic lift rides, guided horseback riding, a climbing wall and an 18-hole disc golf course.
