Absolutely beautiful place to camp. Every camp site has a million dollar view.

Didn’t have a reservation and there were 2 not reserved sites when we showed up. Was either here or continuing up the road for a dispersed site. No hook ups the site was very level we got site 9. Enjoyed our stay. Site host said it’s not common to find unreserved sites in a Friday our site was reserved for the next day so had to get out by 11.

This was a great campsite! Clean and quiet with a lovely lake view. Scenic drive, paved road all the way to the site, maybe 20-30 min from Jackson and Grand Teton both. $20 a night for 1 car & tent! We first checked out dispersed sites on Antelope Flats but the main loop was chock full of people (and too close for my getaway camping tastes) and with an impending thunderstorm, we didn’t want to venture up the rough rd and risk getting stuck with a washout. Atherton Creek was a great alternative and we ended up staying 2 nights while exploring GRTE.

We arrived on a Friday morning and there were around 4 spots open so we took one. Camp host was friendly as always. A nice and quiet spot and the sites are a good distance between each other. Bathroom was relatively clean and taken care of. It was 20$ for a single site. The beach was also very quiet and perhaps a good place for meditation as the subtle waves from the lake against the rocks was therapeutic and the sound of rustling leaves in the wind. We saw 2 snakes, a doe, and even a fox with black socks early in the morning. If you like being amongst nature and serenity, it's a great spot. First come first serve, so plan accordingly.

This was a great spot for staying a night outside of Jackson, WY! The bathrooms were really clean and the host gave us a slew of recommendations for our trip.

Great option since I couldn’t find camping at GTNP it is about 30 min from moose, right now there are fixing the road so it may take extra 15 min. The lake is nice and views are amazing. Bathrooms clean, no showers. Fire ring , picnic table and bear food storage on every site, some mosquitos at evening time

This campsite has it all, the views, the level spots, and a lake! Good spaces for all sizes of rigs or tents or even groups. A little bit of cell service exists towards the boat dock if you really need it and it’s about 20/30 mins to GTNP depending on the conditions of the rig and the road. I haven’t wanted to write a review for fear of everyone finding out about this amazing USFS camping area!

Wonderful time on the lake, plenty of views, painting spots, clean bathrooms, and cold water. Helpful staff for getting firewood and knowledgeable on the local wildlife.

we loved this campground. pros: sites are spread out for very good privacy. bathrooms are good enuf. host, Justin was nice and helpful. cons: no showers, no internet (or is that a pro?). gravel road to campground was a little bumpy the last couple of miles. pretty close to Jackson and not too far from Signal Mountain and such. our jk350 jeep did not have any problems. We found this place out of desperation as all other campsites were booked. We will definitely camp here again. there are some primo sites on the lake we will try and get next time.

Stunning views, peaceful location. Our site was a little secluded, Boondocking with lake views. 5 miles up was Crystal Creek Campground which was a completely different feel. The ONLY downside was on our 3 night stay the vault bathroom had no toilet paper, no worries, we came prepared and shared ours by stocking the bathroom with a few rolls on the women’s.

We had a Doe and her fawn visit us in our camp, our camp had the creek running in the back portion. Saw a griz and her cub cross in front of our vehicle upon our last day.

Beautiful views and super quiet. Close to Grand Teton, which was why we stayed. The lake is so stunning! Super domesticated deer strolled through the campsite around dinner time. Beach access and 23 (I think) sites to choose from. Arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday and it was 90% full.

We stayed at this campsite mid May and there were not many people there. They were available campsites at 7 p.m. when we arrived. There are only a few campsites directly on the water but others have good views and tree coverage.

We had reservations on Grand Tetons for the day so we were going to boondock for the night in the forest when we passed this campground. With the senior pass it was only $7. We had a beautiful site over looking the water. There were two pit toilets with toilet paper 2 trash dumpsters and drinking water. The camp host was amazing. The road up to camp ground was paved most of the way. Most sites were good but some were right on the water. There was one pull through. Most sites were small.

Beautiful campground right on the lake. My husband and I tried to find a spot at the Gros Ventre campground but were turned away since they were at max capacity. We decided to try our luck at Atherton Creek and were not disappointed. They’re currently redoing the road, so in the next year there should be a nice paved road all the way there. It was beautiful, much cheaper than most campgrounds ($15/site) and the staff was friendly and helpful. No electrical hookups but perfect if you’re looking for a scenic spot out of the main traffic. About a 35-40 minute drive from Jackson.

We showed up to stay for the night and wound up staying for 5 nights. We pulled in and scored a site next to the lake. The host informed us that it was occupied and the person forgot to leave something in the spot and they never put up the tag stating it was taken. We were bummed and took a spot up top which was just fine. The host, David, let us know the other camper was leaving in the morning and he woke us up so we could grab the site before anyone else could. In our opinion site #14 or #15 are the best spots as they are on the lake. The only downfall is the weekend when kids were everywhere playing on the beach. Also, the road going in is terrible and construction is there during the week, 8-5:30. We were out and about in the Teton area so it didn’t bother us that much. the dogs loved the beach as did we. I would definitely go back to this site.

Forget waking up at 2am to try and snag a site at Jenny Lake. This off-the-beaten-path campground in Teton NF only has 23 sites, with beautiful views of Lower Slide Lake and the mountains.

Best tent site is #19. Awesome view. (Warning: other tent sites can be a little lumpy and hard to find flat ground.)

Bonus: saw a herd of Bison driving to the campground in Antelope Flats.

Would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed the 3 nights we stayed at Atherton creek! The campground was full when we arrived on a Friday so the host put us up near the boat launch and we were able to snag a spot in the actual campground the following morning. Site #19 is probably the best tent spot in the house with a beautiful lake view and some good trees for shade. Clean restrooms and drinking water available. FYI the road to the campground has some sizeable pot holes so use caution on your way in! Made it just fine in our Prius but it required some swerving to avoid bottoming out. Firewood available from the host. Would definitely stay here again.

After spending a few nights in generic RV parks Atherton Creek is a breath of fresh air. I think there is only one or two full hookup sites available so the rest of the sites are just campsites. 

The views of the lake are wonderful, the host is helpful and the campground is quite small. Despite its limited number of sites we had no problem finding a prime site. This is due to the somewhat, out of the way, location. The road is bumpy but paved. 

Highly recommended.

Atherton Campground on Lowe Slide Lake is probably the last campground to fill in the Teton Valley and the best kept secret. Still open spots on July 4, 2017. Well maintained pavement road to the lake. It is a little but of a drive, but still way to get to Mormon row, Moose, and Jackson. Camp is set on a hillside beside this beautiful mountain lake. Sites are well maintained, clean and spread out. We saw 2 antelope in camp. Deer on the way in and out. Didn't have a kayak with us this time, but will for sure have them next trip!!! Everyone from huge diesel pushers to tiny vintage campers & tents were staying there. Can't wait to go back!

This is a great spot for boaters, no matter the vessel. There's a boat ramp but also some pretty easy access for kayaks or SUPs. This is a busy campground so get there early!

You can see the Tetons in the distance, and camp right along the waters edge. That said, there are a lot of mosquitoes so keep that bug spray close! We were there in August and the weather was fantastic! This is a primitive campground but you have easy access to water and can even fish right from your camp if you get a good spot. There is a water pump. We didn't see much wildlife here which was really surprising, but this is bear country so keep careful. You can kayak, canoe, or boat on the lake too!
