Amazing Gem Tucked Far Away from the Mammoth madness!

This campground was a great place for our family to hang out and hike for three days. So many cool trails lead right out from the campground and they’re cool with dogs too (on leases of course)! The camp host-Gary, was friendly, enjoyed his safety speech and helped us get acquainted with the grounds. You can walk to Devils Postpile (about 4 miles) from this campground. Only downside is that there is zero cell service!

Very nice park!

We arrived super late and left super early but the campground is safe, clean, and well put together. It’s actually beautiful and has a lot of things for families to do (pool, volleyball net, playground). The booking was super smooth and all electronic including the confirmation and after hours instruction. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Hideaway while Visiting GTNP

This campsite has it all, the views, the level spots, and a lake! Good spaces for all sizes of rigs or tents or even groups. A little bit of cell service exists towards the boat dock if you really need it and it’s about 20/30 mins to GTNP depending on the conditions of the rig and the road. I haven’t wanted to write a review for fear of everyone finding out about this amazing USFS camping area!

Fantastic Hidden Gem!

We stayed here for the night on our way from Anchorage to Valdez w a whitewater rafting trip just up the road in Glacier View. Perfect choice! It was 20 mins away from NovaAlaska adventures in Glacier View and had a really nice river and little walking area (for kids and dogs). It’s bear heavy as most places are in AK but the host was nice and there to greet us. It was a Saturday evening and there were still quite a few sites open. Would definitely stop here again!

Decent Place to spend the night

This is a safe but bare bones RV park. The sites were clean and level, but not too many FH. The surrounding area isn’t too tip top maintained, but it was fine and well priced for the night.

Decent camping stop

Wolf Creek was a nice, quiet place to stop for the night. The hosts were very pleasant and helped us find a spot. The sites weren’t very spacious however, and not a lot of level areas (for an RV). Would not recommend Class A Motorhome as our sprinter had a rough go of the groups. Very pretty spot however-with lots of places to walk your dogs!

Very nice woodsy spot!

Valdez KOA has super friendly staff and they’ve gone above and beyond to make accommodations for our party which includes an rv family and a cabin family. Very pretty spot with some space to walk the dogs and a fantastic bike/walking trail (also very helpful with walking dogs). We’ve seen plenty of bears (black mostly and one grizzly on a hike). You do need a car to get to Valdez or to some of the waterfalls/hiking as the campground is about 8 miles outside of town.
