Located just five miles from Cody the Cody Trout Ranch Camp offers a truly unique vacation experience. Rent one of our 39 RV sites, spacious 20′ diameter tipis (8 that sleep 4-5) or sheep herder wagons (2 that sleep 2) on the picturesque Shoshone river or a tipi (2 that sleep 4-5) near our stocked trout pond. We offer picnic tables, two community campfire pits, clean laundry facilities, and clean bath/shower facilities. We are the perfect home base for exploring the historic town of Cody and we are only an hour away from the east entrance to the famed Yellowstone National Park. You’ll love sitting and relaxing by a nice fire underneath the beautiful starry sky and being lulled to sleep by the sound of the running river.

If you’re the adventuresome type, you can catch your own dinner. Our Tipi and Sheep Wagon camping guests may try their hand at fishing the river, on their own or with a guide and with a Wyoming fishing license. All of our guests may fish without a license in our stocked fishing pond! If you choose to keep your trout from the pond, guests must pay for the trout they keep, they start at $5 per fish. All equipment is provided for pond fishing, but if tipi guests want to fish the river, they will need their own gear. We are open from April through mid-October (depending on the weather). We are pet friendly. Whether you’re here for a few days or a few weeks, we’ll make your stay a memorable one.

Camp in the place that Buffalo Bill called home near Cody, WY. The small Wyoming city is the perfect place to stock up on supplies and plan a camping trip. Some of the best camping in the state is at Yellowstone National Park where you can watch buffalo, wolves, bears, elk, and deer. Campgrounds near Old Trail Town give visitors a glimpse of life in the 1800s. The frontier town comes complete with a saloon and log cabins. RV campsites are a great place to spend the night before driving along the Buffalo Bill Scenic Byway. Pitch a tent or stay in a cozy cabin to rest up for your next adventure.

The Best Cody, Wyoming Campgrounds | WY Camping

Stayed here 2 times. One time in the tipis In July and one time in an RV site in early May. The tipis are gorgeously appointed and so comfortable to sleep in. They are right on the Shoshone, definitely a great and five star experience. You can fish on the river if it’s not running too fast and there is a Trout pond you also can fish for free.

The RV sites are all pull-through and very nice grace ,but unfortunately can’t see the river from them. The showers and laundry are clean but laundry is limited. They have a coffee shack but not open. Lots of great birds of prey in the area. Close to Cody.

A hot tub and larger laundry would make this place perfect.

Beautiful tipis on the river, nice RV sites

Close to Cody, which was nice. We felt not being in one of the in-town packed KOA-style campgrounds would give us more nature and space—this did not exactly satisfy either. Views are pretty, but no access to the river, and the trout pond was low on water and covered in slime. They nickel and dime you for extra people (our kids), so price gets high. Just don’t see any value for what you pay over and above more standard rates. Good for the owners if people are willing to pay (and they are, as it was crowded) though we most likely will try somewhere else next time. Opposite side of town from the rodeo too.

Expensive and not much to it

There’s so much to do here! My littles (6&amp;8) loved the playground, the fishing pond, it’s far enough from the road to be quiet and safe. It’s new so the trees are pretty young still. Gravel not pads. 

My favorite family hang out

Staff was very friendly. Sites are gravel. Cute little coffee house. Laundry room was clean &amp; spacious. Friendly horses as you enter. Nice size dog area, but beware of the attacking black birds!!!! We had Wi-Fi when we first checked in. Within a few minutes rain came through &amp; we lost power. The Wi-Fi at the sites never came back on. We lost power twice while we were there. The local power company needs to trim some trees or update the grid. Close to a highway but pretty quiet. Nice little guns &amp; ammo shop on site. Other than the power &amp; wifi issue this is a great campground!!

Alfred Hitchcock “BIRDS”

This RV Park is just the right size with about 40 sites. Most for larger rigs but some for smaller. It's located just outside of Cody a few miles, so you don't have to deal with the traffic noise or the light pollution. Star gazing is excellent. Great spot for exploring Cody, Shoshone National Park and Yellowstone National Park. It's also a good location for discovering the Chief Joseph highway and the Bear Tooth. It offers a great scenic view of the mountains of Shoshone National Forest Mountains to the West, and the Big Horns to the east. The park is well run, clean, very nicely landscaped with a helpful and very friendly staff. The park also has just enough amenities to make it a great location for couples or families looking for a central spot from which to enjoy adventures to the main attractions above. Most sites have some shade and some sun. The attractive landscaping keeps a nice buffer between you and your neighbors. So, if you're looking for an RV park that provides all the necessities, and not amenities that you will probably never use, then this park is a good choice. It's priced just right. We are from Virginia and have now stayed here twice and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Next time we are in Wyoming we will make this a definite stop.
