Reservations are made through the National parks service "recreation.gov" website. Arrived for tent camping for 1 nights, park ranger met me at the entrance to ensure i could find my site. My stay was quiet and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked with HOT water in the private showers. This is a great base camp for getting out to hike the various trails in Prince William Forrest. Firewood is gather your own from fallen limbs in the park.

The campground is nice, beautiful, shaded, but not private. Didn’t find WiFi and Verizon cell service was limited. No wood for sale at that time. Bathrooms looked recently remodeled and were very good.

RV sites are limited to 32’ and trailers to 26’ and no more than 12’ high. Gravel sites are fairly level and close together.

Restrooms have sinks and flush toilets in all Loops. However Loop C also has showers.

Former girlfriend and I stayed here end of May 2022. Not a terrible place. Unfortunately I don’t remember the site number. Think it was in the section B. The park seemed well kept. Only issue we had when arriving. We had no clue where to find firewood. Apparently there’s a 7-11 down the road that sells wood. We lucked out, because there was some left from other camper’s. Overall it was nice. Only downside I can think of right now. The water spigot should have some stone or something around it to avoid a mud puddle.

Only was able to stay a night here I wish I could have stayed more. Beautiful park and campground many of nice camp sites!

Everything was fully operational at our campsite when we visited in early April. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Sites were nicely kept. Be aware that they do not sell firewood on-site!

Everything you would want from a campground, just realized maybe I don’t have the right gear for November 😂 gps did take us to the wrong place twice, not sure if that was user error or a confused gps. Just FYI! Also host site did not have firewood like some sites said they would. Get wood from a gas station (or another site said Lowe’s) before you get to the park!

Some beautiful lingering fall color. There are not many other campers. Best spacious sites are those on the outside loops.(outside sites that are NOT as spacious are A 1 - 11, 15,17,21,23. C8, 11). Bathrooms/Showers are clean, new, and with hot water - in B loop. (Some firearms noise from Quantico).

Had a great time camping. The restrooms on loop B are more updated than loop A.

The only complaint that I have is that with the campgrounds being so close to quantico you can hear their training at night. So around midnight we got to hear gun fire and what not through out our first night.

Also none of the sheds had any firewood or any signs of where to get firewood, so we had to go to food lion to purchase some.

This spot was so nice. The trees are enchanting as you drive deep into the park to get to the oak ridge campground. 10/10 would stay here again. Oh and the showers/bathhouses are some of the nicest we have experienced!

This campground has great space and super clean bathrooms with marble tile.

The campground isn’t too far from where I live but its far enough and quiet enough for a weekend getaway. The bathrooms were nice and clean throughout my stay and looked newly renovated.

Camped here the first weekend it was open in 2021. Nice campground Bathrooms are clean. Lots of hiking trails.

They have a handful of sites that are more secluded and not right on the driveway loop. I've only camped in loop C and find it more quiet and less crowded than loop B. Probably because this loop only has toilets in the restroom. Showers are in loop B, which is a 5-7 minute walk. During holiday weekends the sites closest to the shower facilities are fully booked and have less privacy. They are usually reserved by larger groups. Plenty of beautiful walking and hiking trails in the park to enjoy. This campground is well maintained and routinely monitored by park rangers. There's a $20 National Park entrance fee that's in addition to the site reservation.

New restrooms and close to the town but far enough to be dark and quiet like the outdoors!

Prince William Forest has been a destination for my family for over 35 years. Staff is friendly and helpful.

RV’s are allowed, but not all RV’s fit. Their website states that “Trailers and fifth wheels are limited to up to 26 feet in length and 12 feet in height and motor homes up to 32 feet in length and 12 feet in height.”

No hookups, but a fantastic destination!

Nice campground, very spread out sites not close to neighbor, clean bathrooms, close to DC metro area for good getaway, nice trails to hiking/ running/ biking.

Nice and clean, not too terribly close to your neighbors. Awesome car camping spot with plenty of hiking trails.

Oak Ridge is our favorite local go-to campground.  This site meets all of our expectations with exceptionally clean bathrooms to boot.  It's a short jaunt away with miles of hiking trails.  The sites are generously sized, wooded and private.  If you're going with a group there are also sites that connect.  C Loop is the most private with several sites being walk-in.  B Loop is mostly shaded and also the only loop with showers (my preference).  A Loop is first to come, first served whereas Loops B and C are reservation only. Firewood is available but they do not provide much so I recommend bringing what you need if you plan on having a fire for more than one night.  There are a few trailheads accessible from the camping loops but many you'll need to drive to.  Parking is limited but I've never had trouble finding a spot.  If you want a quick getaway without driving hours outside of the metro area this is your place!

We camped here with a group of families in the fall. The drive into the park was beautiful and made us feel we were many miles away from civilization even though we weren’t. The camp sites are spread out nicely with clean facilities. The bathrooms were particularly well heated! We almost didn’t want to leave after brushing our teeth. We loved our fall visit when the forest was the spectrum of reds, oranges and browns.

Love this park! Have been many times. It is perfect for the quick, local get away. You would NEVER even know that you are so close to home.

The staff were so helpful and nice. They checked on us daily but didn’t over stay. The sites were roomy and not to close. We saw lots of wildlife but had no issues with trash or food (raccoons left everything alone).

We saw DC during the day but camped each evening. It was amazing!

This campground is pretty enormous. There's got to be over the 100 sites. A loop is for walk ins, b and c loops are for reservations. The campground sits in a beautiful Prince William national Forrest. At the sites there are picnic tables, fire pits, and grills which makes for easy cooking and relaxing: There are other sites as well as a backcountry carry in carry out site that i have also stayed at.

There is lots and lots of history around the area. We spent 5 days camping and exploring the civil war battle areas and other things. Definitely worth exploring. Get your camp on do some hiking, biking, fishin, and also exploring th history of the area well worth it.
