Great Campsite

A nice getaway from the city for the weekend. It’s usually pretty busy. The camp boat are great. Bathrooms are close by but no showers. Nice concrete pads and tables.

Trails!!

I unfortunately arrived late and ended up sleeping in the dirt in the dispersed camp. I read all was first come first serve this time of year, and I got there on a Friday during perfect weather, thats on me.
But it wasn't all bad. I would recommend bringing ear plugs as many campers like to party late, and the motorcycles start early in the morning. The trails in and around this park are incredible!! Very challenging and spectacular scenery. If you want to summit a mountain you can do that!!

Beautiful setting with a great trail

September 17, 2020 stay for 2 nights. Timpooneke Camp Ground and their hosts were wonderful. We had a spot that wasn’t the best, #17, since it wasn’t too private however we enjoyed the wooded area of Aspens, Fur, etc directly behind us. Other sites, if you are lucky, are more private. The trails going up the mountain meet up with the Timpooneke Trail head. The 8 mile hike up to the peak was dusty but about 45 minutes up you reach some springs to cool you off. The time of year allowed us to enjoy the colors of the leaves. The campground has water, vaulted toilets, and a creek towards the bottom near the entrance.

Easy access to Timp and Scout Falls

This campground provides easy access to one of the best hikes. Mt Timpanogous provides some stellar views of the backcountry and the valley below. On the way, stop and checkout Scout Falls. Early in the summer the falls comes pretty heavy because of the runoff. Pets are allowed but only on leash.

The campground is well maintained but gets a lot of traffic in and out because of the hikers driving to the parking lot. OHV riders will love the scenery and trails it provides just above the campground spot.

Very large space. We fit a lot people there(only one tent) we were able to wake up and get on the trail and hike up to the glacier and camp we then hiked to the end the next day and hiked out.

Beautiful scenic campground

This was a beautiful campground. Very nice. I love how it is near a river. You can hear it at night. It's so nice to get to a cool area out of the hot valley and into the cool scenic back country of Utah county. Bathrooms were fresh non out house smelling for sure. Highly recommended.

Great Campground

We camp here often as it is so beautiful here.  There are a couple of nearby trails and amazing views all around.  It can get cold at night - high elevation.  Not really a bad site in the campground.  However it fills up fast and is about impossible to get a site on the weekend without a reservation.

Amazing campground a short drive from the city

This campground is well maintained and nestled into some nice pine trees in view of the backside of Mount Timpanogos, it is divided into 3 areas, one of which has horse corrals. While there are many campgrounds in Utah that rival it, this one is special because it's such a short drive after work.

Walk up??

After failing to get a walk up at granite flats because everything was reserved, we tried Timpooneke. Online it indicates that they have lots of walk ups, however, driving through we only saw 2 with the W designation and everything else had a reserved sign up.

Right where you want to start your hike

It's a nice site right at the base of the timpooneke trail that leads to summit of my timp. Not free, but a great way to be there for a head start on the sunrise hike.

Customer care!

The rangers at the timpanookie sight were very helpful. They helped us find the trailhead, a good place to hang hammocks, and had to see places

Great hiking next to this campsite

I love the dense trees surrounding this campground. It's a great place to hammock and hike. Scout falls (while not overly impressive) is about 1 mile into the hike. Make sure you camp in designated spots as fires are prohibited everywhere else.
