Nice campground

Very popular campground. Sites nestled in the trees. Occasional road noise. It is shows as first come first served but somehow people can make reservations ahead of time. We looked for a sign which said OPEN and camped there. Hosts are great.

Pine trees and high elevation

Beautiful campground in the pine trees. Lots of campsites crammed in there but still a feeling of privacy. Can get busy and hard to get reservations (first come sites available if you want to chance it). Tibble Fork reservoir is close by. You do hear a lot of UTV traffic, but most people probably used to that by now. Overall a beautiful location.

Beautiful and Solitary

The drive and location is beautiful.  The campground is large and there is a lot of privacy.  It was so quiet the entire time we stayed here.  We also only saw a few people. The drop toilets were surprisingly not awful.  I loved how many trees there were, and the proximity to Tibble Fork reservoir.  I will definitely be going back.

Great Little Campground

The area is well wooded and the sites though small give a good deal of privacy. There are plenty of toilets and water spigots with potable water, but no trash receptacles, so you’ll need to pack out your trash

Bathroom issues

Gorgeous drive up to a gorgeous campground. Our site was pretty small. I would not recommend camping here unless you have an RV with a bathroom. There were so many flies in the bathroom that they coated the walls. Since I was tent camping, I did not bother to unpack. It was horrific.

Great spot for more easygoing camping

Beautiful area. Water accessible just a few steps from the site, dumpsters a short drive away, bathrooms basic but well-maintained. Sites were close together, but felt private, and it was surprisingly quiet. There's a swimming area nearby with trails and other areas to explore. All the good stuff of real camping without the more labor intensive aspects of more primitive camping, and very few of the annoyances I associate with a popular campground (noise, etc).

I went with my kids and my friend's family. They'd never gone before and loved it enough to start buying up their own camping equipment I've the last year. They're going back to the same campground next month.

Quiet, shaded area

Quite area, lot of room. I stayed on site 58 (tent only). Enough room for 2 medium tents. Next/above stream. Tucked in very back. Long ways to walk from car. Water spout next to car area. Will be sharing parking with 2 other sites. 2 lakes nearby. Fire pit with grill gate. Shaded area. Full sun from 10am-4pm.

Beautiful scenery, well maintained campgrounds, lots of mosquitoes

The area and scenery were gorgeous! The hosts were lovely and helpful. The water was cool and there were tons of people there with paddle boards, canoos, tents, and dogs.

The only downside was that this year there were an obscene amount of mosquitoes.

*Be aware that this campsite reservations for the weekend fill up quick. I checked in late may and every weekend until September was already booked.

Nice weekend getaway

Beautiful campground, lots of trees and privacy. However, you can’t bring big rigs there only smaller trailers or tent camping. Very close to Tibble Fork Reservoir where there’s great fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. You can swim too, but the water is pretty cold.

Loved this place!

We stayed in mid October when the campground is first come first serve. Good thing we got there early in the morning (it was Saturday) because they had just closed an entire loop that significantly reduced the number of sites. We got the last one available but it was a really nice site with a lot of privacy (17). This entire area is very pretty. The fall colors were amazing! Tip: don’t drive to the upper lake, it was mostly dry in the fall and the drive was VERY rough for 3 miles uphill.

Cool Spot

Nice campsites.  The hosts of the campground were a young couple which was a nice change.  We stayed on a Sunday night and the sites were packed with day use people.  As the sun set everyone, literally almost everyone, left.  Would be a bummer if you pulled in looking to camp a half hour before.  Overall, def. would recommend.

So beautiful.

Went for the night. Just wanted to paddleboard the lake and it was perfect to do so. Not too crowded. Small but beautiful.

Close by but feels remote

Granite flats is just a few miles up AF canyon and our site was very quiet and secluded. There are two reservoirs close by in Tibble Fork and Silverlake flat that are both beautiful.

The one downside was that the tent spot was not flat, and had quite a few large rocks. Otherwise, it was great. We will be back.

Close to a lake and Timp caves

Great little spot just above Tibble Fork reservoir. They recently finished construction on the reservoir so there is plenty to do there. You can fish, kayak, paddle board, swim, etc just beware that the weekends and holidays bring out lots of people and beach space fills up really fast.

The campground is very clean and easy access to vault toilets and water. There are plenty of trees for shady spots. Not all sites will fit the length of a trailer, but most will.

Nice spot close to home.

I took the scouts up to this spot and it is a great place to camp with lots of room. Make sure you get camped and in because they lock the gate coming into campground at 11PM and you have to hike in. Really nice campsites with really nice bathrooms and picnic tables. There is a huge spot of grass that you can play sports or baseball on. Can't remember the site we had but there was a huge rock that was fun for the scouts to climb on. Really nice spots with lots of trees and shade. This is really close to some really good hikes like Stewart Falls, and tibble fork reservoir just minutes for your camp site. In the summer call ahead because this area can be busy.

Gorgeous high alpine campground!

A beautiful alpine campground that sits near 2 beautiful reservoirs you can relax at during the hot summer! This campground lies on the Tibble Fork Res turnoff in American Fork Canyon. There are vault toilets with picnic tables and metal fire rings at each site

Nearby there are hundreds and hundreds of climbing routes and hiking trails! A hiking trail that is within the campground heads up to the 11000'+ peak! There are also numerous trails that hike around the mountains and lakes. If you choose to drive further up to Silver Lake Flat you will get treated to gorgeous views of the Alpine Ridge to the north and the Timpanogos Massif to the south

Busy, but beautiful

These campgrounds were surprisingly busy with dune buggies, dirt bikes, and cars driving by every few minutes. I thought we went far enough in that this wouldn’t be a problem, but the campsite we chose was right next to the road. Other than that we were close to the river, a quick drive down to tibble fork, and the dogs (and humans) had a blast camping here!

Mountain views

This is my husband's favorite. It is less than an hour from home but feels farther. There are plenty of trees to provide shade and a lot of activities in the area to do. It is right up the road from tibble fork reservoir for swimming and boating(non motorized). There are many different atv trails to follow. And my personal favorite, hiking trails galore. It makes a great weekend getaway.

Favorite campground

American Fork canyon is my all time favorite canyon. I love the high sides as you drive through. Fall is the best time to go. Beautiful colors. Granite flats has lots of hiking around and is near a really fun little reservoir (which has been discovered and is getting super busy unfortunately). Very picturesque for sure.

Babys first camping Trip!

loved camping here! My husband and I recently moved to Oklahoma where there there isn’t much camping. So to say that we were excited for our trip back home was an understatement. This campsite was near Tibble Fork which is somewhere I have been wanting to go and explore for a long time. We were able to paddle board which was a blast! I loves being so close and having access to so many beautiful hikes and Rick climbing. We were right next to a beautiful river and it was pretty quiet.

Lovely!

Utah is such an amazing place to visit for the outdoors. My family and I come here once a year because we love hiking and being in the outdoors. This place was great and provided us a place to stay for a few nights before making the long drive home. There are some great hikes nearby that I highly recommend. We went on a 10 mile round trip hike one of the mornings and the views were incredible. The campground was great, and the campsites were awesome. Each campsite is separated by trees so you feel like you have some privacy which we really loved. There is a great burger joint nearby that I recommend going too. We ate here twice!

Nice campground

Very nice campground up from the reservoir. It’s quiet despite the area being very busy during weekends. We’ve been here several times and even saw a moose in the Mess Hall loop once. The hosts were helpful also. Nice sites nestled in pine trees. There is running water and vault toilets throughout the campground. There were some wicked thunderstorms at night (which we liked). Some sites are small so make sure you know the dimensions of the equipment you’re bringing.

Good campground, very busy

I really enjoyed camping here with a group of friends. Each camping area is nice, however, it is very very busy and pretty tight quarters. If you're looking for a little more privacy from neighbors this may not be your best bet.
