Bumpy road

The road leading here is very bumpy. There are two specific spots that are really bad. 4x4 is almost a requirement. I did however see some people make it up in a van so it is possible. The coordinates lead to an open field with a lot of campsites. I would suggest parking in the lot a little further ahead on the left. This road is a popular destination so people ride up and down it a lot. The views are well worth it and there is also some hiking trails around here as well. There are more dispersed camping sites further along this road. I was able to get a very spotty one bar signal of Verizon while near the coordinates.

Just OK

Steep, steep road to get there. We did it in a 33' Class C, and nothing larger would go. NOT accessable to Class A's 8nless pretty short. Small uneven sites, very close together. We spent a Saturday night, and as usual for a weekend, many yahoos whooping it up. We would only recommend this site for smaller vehicles and in a pinch it will do

Gate closed

Gate was closed on paved road past gun and archery club. Couldn’t make it to campground 6.3.23. Will try again later in the summer.

Quick Camping

I needed a place to car camp for the night and this place was easy enough. Keep following the road until it becomes dirt, and there are plenty of pull offs. I saw several cars making it up the road just fine, but I wouldn’t have wanted to take a car up there. Road gets rough the further up you get. Pretty busy in June but I arrived late and had no problem finding a secluded spot to pull off.

Was a cold night but beautiful views

Great view into Provo. Seemed like we had a fair bit of traffic on the road we stayed on and about 4 inches of snow.

Words can’t describe how beautiful

By far our most favorite campsite. The road turns into pavement to dirt, and once on the dirt road, it’s rocky, has potholes and the road thins out. We camped towards to the top. It had plenty of room for tents amongst the trees and in the field. There were fire pits but at this point in time, there was a ban so we didn’t start one. We grabbed pizza from Fat Daddy’s in town and it was INCREDIBLE. Great view and great camping. Definitely recommend going during the week rather than a weekend because it gets BUSY.

Perfect overnight getaway from SLC

Continued on the road ~0.5 mile beyond the marked spot on the Dyrt map. Found a beautiful spot tucked away in the trees with a great view of the Timps. Continue exploring along the road for amazing panoramic views.

Camping in the meadows

First come first serve for these sites. Sound carries from other nearby sites and it is close to the road so passing vehicles create noise, but the quality of the area makes up for it. Beautiful rolling meadows with forest on either side add beauty to the area with majestic mountains in the background. This site is just over a wood fence to the right of the dirt road. You’ll notice fire pits and small clearings where tents have been

Nice to be alone

This site is deep past the meadows near square peak. You continue to follow the dirt road in and on your left is a small depression in the land with a fire pit and ample space for tents or hammocks. This site is 400-500 yards away from the next closest collection of camp sites. There is excellent privacy and a nice breeze that carries the smell of sage and mint through the area.
