This free fishing access site provides five campsites under large cottonwood trees along the Big Hole River, accessible via dirt roads six miles south of Melrose. Each site includes dirt parking pads, metal fire rings, and picnic tables with adequate tent space, plus one ADA-accessible vault toilet serves the campground. The sites spread apart from each other despite the compact layout.
Interstate and railroad traffic create some background noise, though the mature cottonwoods help buffer sound levels. The facility includes a dirt boat ramp downstream from Brownes Bridge and allows campfires, pets, and alcohol, though campers must pack out all trash since no collection service operates here. Browne's Bridge Campground sits nearby for those preferring developed amenities.
