Free dispersed camping along Highway 472 provides basic amenities within the Kisatchie National Forest's Catahoula district. The campground splits on both sides of the highway, with vault toilets available on each side and cleared spots suitable for RVs alongside obvious fire rings from previous campers.
Designated as a hunter camp, the area sees seasonal restrictions during deer and turkey seasons that require checking with forest service rangers. Cell service reaches two bars for Verizon users, and the predominantly pine forest setting offers some seclusion despite highway proximity. Campers report overgrown areas mixed with maintained clearings accessible via gravel and mud loop roads. Hunter's Camp on Highway 472 sits just southwest for similar free forest camping.
