Wasn’t our favorite when it was open, but stayed at a new place nearby and saw the signs indicating it has closed down.
Small, quiet campground adjacent to NOC
We really enjoyed staying at the Lost Mine Campground in the Nantahala National Forest. It's small and cozy with sites that sit on a creek that lulls you to sleep. Directions
From East (Bryson City, NC) Follow Highway 74 west towards Andrews, NC. (The road will narrow from 4 lanes into 2 lanes.) Turn left onto Silvermine Road just before Nantahala Outdoor Center Information Office. We are 1 mile up Silvermine Road on the right. From West (Andrews, NC) Follow Highway 74 east towards Bryson City, NC. Turn right onto Silvermine Road immediately after the Nantahala Outdoor Center Information Office. We are 1 mile up Silvermine Road on the right.
